The diesel locomotives are a class in themselves with melodious honking and robust movement. The 1980 released hindi movie with multi starrer "The Burning Train" is a living testimonial to see and enjoy the diesel engines best movement.

I m just suggesting that if IR considers al diesel running rolling stock like locos, dmu etc to be retrofitted into hydrogen powered locomotive.. Then that will be much better

Come to Bongaigaon To Kamakhya Via Goalpara not ( rangiya ) rangiya is electrificated In Goalpara line electrification will be done till March 2023 it's getting done please come here for the last diesel runs here like 50 - 60 trains run via this route including - Saraighat , Agartala Bengaluru humsafar , and a lot of other trains Visit here my house is in Azara it comes before Kamakhya jn only 13 km away via Goalpara route My house is in front of the railway line only 400m to station it's a 8 lines station kinda big but for malgadis more so I always get to hear this soothing sounds

Do you know that the trial run of the first Rajdhani Express was made between Howrah and New Delhi in 11 and half hours, pulled by a diesel engine. For several years diesels pulled the Rajdhani making the journey in 14 hrs. later extended to 17hrs because of more stops and longer trains.
Good old memories, specifically talking about NFR (NJP - NCB route) there were no electrification till mid 2019, and suddenly they did it in a very high speed. Lockdown helped them. Missing the nights when we used to get Alco chugging and EMD's humming even 1km far from the tracks. Personally electric loco's do not excite me, they are boring specially horn sucks seems like a toy horn is being blown.
True.. Never wanted NFR to do with💩electrification .. From Insurgency border and weather conditions perspective.. I think Diesel locomotive should rule over the whole North East States.
