This place is well known for being haunted and if you drive around Hermitage the city youll see many roads named after Andrew and Rachel. You did great showing everything and you gotta look me up the next time you are near here. Thanks bro and safe travels.
@@bobbyherrington5029 What does Presidential policesof the 1830s have to do about a video on a museum? We have seen your virture signaling so you may go now.
@@bobbyherrington5029 No one said you didn't have a right to your opinion. I'm just pointing out your virtue signaling that you are posting on someone's history video. If you have a problem with Jackson then take it up with him, and not on a history buff's history video.
Hi Jordan, nice to Andrew's pocket watch and the locket with his hair. The house was very impressive and I love the photo of the hallway. What beautiful gardens, wouldn't mind strolling around those. Great vlog Jordan.
One of the things I admire about you is your compassion and your respect for others. Yeah,a bit disappointed we didn't get to see the interior, but you showed so much and we got a history lesson. I would love to see other presidents' homes in the future, but maybe after gas prices aren't an arm and a leg! These historic videos are my favorites!
I haven't been to the Hermitage in years, think I was in kindergarten. My grandparents were in town for a visit and we went. I don't remember much about it, definitely time to go back. Very beautiful there, I love the grounds with all of the flowers. Thanks Jordan🌞💕
The Hermitage was the only presidential house I ever visited back in the early eighties! Watching this vlog, I can remember seeing the kitchen and tomb of Andrew Jackson and Rachel, yet, they have added new stuff like the historic Laffiette sign, and the models of the former house before the mansion. I'm going to have to revisit soon! So much has been added on over the course of many years. Thanks for taking us on your tour as always Jordan!👍🤩🥰
@@Regina0964 don't get me wrong, I lived in a rural part of Tennessee for 12 years and I didn't see anything there that reminded me of the United States. The law enforcement was a joke. I knew this one kid who used to sit around with my nephew in our garage and smoke weed and I guess after all that weed he decided to join the police department because he said that the 10 bucks an hour was the highest paying job in that county. The Municipal court Judge and the county DA got busted for federal trafficking cocaine. They were the largest coke dealers in the county and both of them wore ankle bracelets to work. To be fair most of the south operates like there own country. And 95% of all elected Sherriff's are more corrupt than the people they are housing in there jail.
Family road trip vacation and stopped here on the way home. I do remember the entrance hall and how beautiful the wallpaper was. Nice job showing the outside property
Hey Jordan, I did the Hermitage tour back in 1990. I've liked presidential history for years also, it was the first president's home I'd had ever been to.
One of my favorite presidents as we share the same birthdate, month and day not year LOL, I love this place so beautiful. I was surprised when I found out that it was about 90% original. You do should a great job with your videos. Thanks again Jordan for taking us along with you.
Great video Jordan i really enjoyed it today and thank you for sharing and telling us what you could not film you did an excellent job, i can not wait for our next adventure.
My father commissioned a local artist once to paint his portrait. He hung it on our family room wall. We all made fun of him but the worst of it from our Mother. We hated that the eyes followed us. It is stored away I’m a closet somewhere.
My Grandmother had these old pictures that, as a kid, I was afraid of because the eyes seemed to follow you around. Like your portraits. Lol They were of two old women with the meanest looks on their faces. I, now wonder what ever happened to them, they were in these big round wooden frames, probably close to two feet long × wide. The frames may be valuable today because they were really old 55 years ago. I don't know where they went after her death...
I was there back in Oct. 2003. I walked down the path to the road and back around the circle to the house. Very nice grounds. it was a nice cool fall day.
WOW!!! Thanks Jordan for taking me to the Hermitage. On many of a family trip from Texas to Virginia, I would point out the sign. No time to stop. Finally got to see it.
Jordan, that place is amazing, I've been there, i bet you filmed atleast 8 hours that day, just looking and reading everything, my favorite part was the walkways around the garden area when the flower's where in bloom, i know after he lost his beautiful wife, he didn't want to live, but knew he had to finish what he was suppose to do first. The interior of the home was amazing, and the ceilings where high... thank you for the tour, there's another place not to far from there, another well known person, i just can't think of his name, not sure if it's the Meade plantation... thank you for the tour, and if i think of it I'll Edit it in this post...hugs from wisconsin, i love History that's my favorite.. Jordan, no matter what other's say about Andrew Jackson, his life wasn't perfect after his Father died before he was born... great video all in all..thank you for your time and energy, and the gas you havd to put in just to get to these historical places, so many people need to respect that more, plus the time to edit, find a hotel for you a Jah, pay no attention to those that only want to start a post war...
Ha! “The People’s President” the sarcasm of it all on that entrance sign. If I were alive during his time, I’m sure I wouldn’t be included in “the people” Cool video to highlight history.
@@ednakelley814 that's only a testament of how the words completely lost their meaning back then. I visited Nashville and the Hermitage on a 8th grade field trip years ago, would like to go back. Have you ever been to Greeneville, TN? It’s the hometown of President Andrew Johnson, my birthplace. We took the tours of his home and tailor shop in elementary school.
Good to see the history, I love history, nice to see the original items in the museum. I've been to the Georgetown Kentucky museum in 2002 it's all free it was built in 1999. It's has Louis and Clark stuff and Daniel Boone stuff all original his long gun and oil painting of him framed. Books papers everything, check it out. Thanks for sharing this video Jordan.👍👍🙂📸
Took you and Jah, via my Jordan the lion Jah t-shirt, to Jamaica 🇯🇲 . I had lots of people ask me about it and told them you are my favorite vlogger with an exceptional pup. Wish I could share the pictures with you.
I have a back story on Pres Andrew Jackson. Kinda has ties to my family. When Andrew Jackson was making his campaign trail. Use to the Pres elect would travel by horse or by train to advertise his running for president. Well my cousin's family the Galbraiths had a farm just in Decatur county Indiana. Where my family is from and still here. Anyways he happened to stop at my cousin's 4th generation great grandfather was being born at the farm at the same time Andrew Jackson. He told the family if you name the baby after me and skip every other generation I will make sure the first born will get a scholarship to college. So my cousin Andrew is named Andrew Jackson Galbraith the 4th. Interesting story. There's a state of Indiana historical sign on the property to this day. Now my other cousin owns the property now.
