This is a fun and helpful video! I've toyed with using seed-makers for money before, especially for crops like blueberries or cranberries where I'd get more crops than I could possibly process. I appreciate the summary chart at the end of the video-- but maybe next time could you make it full screen? It would make it easier to read, especially the bottom of the list.

Fwiw, the 1.6 addition of the dehydrator is probably a much more profitable and convenient use case for leftover low value crops, that also benefits from the artisan profession. The dehydrators are cheap to make once the recipe has been purchased (it's 10k, but the seed maker is also unlocked fairly late) and only need to be filled once a day.
oh I'm actually pretty happy about corn, it's a crop I always want to justify planting more of because it's a multi-season multiharvest, and it's so pretty too. I'm gonna have to start doing this!
I will ALWAYS justify corn in my own play throughs, honestly.

Honestly, I feel the biggest barrier to using seeds as a money maker is the scarcity of the machine. At farming 9 and requiring gold + coal, makes it hard to justify the investment. There's also opportunity cost of planting "lower end" crops compared to the traditional money makers like melons, start fruit and pumpkins. One thing I think your analysis lacks is a gold per day comparison (from seed to sale), as that is how most of the other crops are rated. Could be a fun concept for a challenge run where you mod in a seed maker right from the get go, but as a normal play through tool, the seed maker isn't very interesting other than as a way to get ancient fruit rolling, or setting up strawberries in year 2.
Use the mushrooms to make fall seeds then trade them en masse for winter seeds at the desert trader. The crystalberry and snow yams will yield a nice profit and the winter roots can be turned into more winter seeds.
Trading for winter seeds at the desert trader is a great tip. Since you can't buy any seeds to plant in the winter, these give you something to fill up your fields without sacrificing the normal seasonal crops. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
On the repeat crops, it makes sense to seed them indefinitely. Using this means using ginger island or a greenhouse to multiply crops and essentially making another market, strawberries didn't belong here bc of their turn around cost vs seed resell. But I'd have a shed dedicated to them to get seeds ready to plant in season. I'll run corn up the flagpole and see personally how well it can do.
Small honorable mention: with the new (animal NPC trader) in 1.6, it's now possible to trade tree seeds for the new crop seeds like broccoli and squash. I hadn't really considered it before, but that's definitely a better choice than just having a chest full of hundreds of acorn seeds no one needs, or selling said acorn seeds straight away.

I haven’t tested this myself, but what I heard from Salmence about sunflower seeds (and what the wiki still suggests is true), is that you have to add seeds to the stack of Joja seeds to get the better sell price. Adding Joja price seeds to harvested, seed-maker made, or Pierre bought will drop the price to 20.
Yeah, that's what I thought too, but when I bought them, it said the seeds were all 20 gold, regardless of the source. I was going based off the price catalog book power, so maybe there's a discrepancy between that and the actual sell price. I did not try putting them in the shipping bin to test, but if anyone has confirmed there is still a way to get this to work, I would love to hear about it. Thanks for the comment!

my first time using the seed maker i got scared off from using it cause i put an ancient fruit in there expecting to get ancient fruit seeds but instead i got mixed seeds, i was so sad lol
Oh no! It's a small chance, but you definitely can get unlucky.
It's a little cheesy, but if you have a really important one like that, you could save it for first thing in the morning and reload the day if it goes wrong 😉

How is Sweet Gem Berry not no.1? Getting a SGB farm going in Ginger island and my Greenhouse, with Greenhouse used for seed making and Ginger Island used for selling nets me 4-5m+ gold per harvest (using Agriculturalist + Hyper Speed-grow + Deluxe Fertilizer). That’s about 20m gold every year. Sometimes even more if I decide to plant my extra 500 seeds in fall.
Sure, it’s costly to set everything up, but it becomes the most profitable crop in the game profit/time wise if you can get the whole system going, especially if you remember to pop a Farmer’s Lunch every time you harvest. Also no need to uglify the valley with your 1000 kegs anymore 😂
Sweet gem berries can be great! In fact, I have a whole video about how they compare to some of the other best crops.
This video is just focusing on selling seeds for a profit over the raw crops, so sweet gem berries don't really fit in that category, even if you do need to use the seed makers to replenish your seeds.

Honestly, I'd find it just way too slow to set up. It'd take you several years to really get to the point where you can actually sell them instead of turning them straight back into seeds. I don't usually maintain a savefile past year 2 or 3 before I get bored.
