What can I say after spending 11 hours straight in a call making this with a dear friend? This is like an entire fucking CHILD. We're SO proud of the work we did on this and it's always a pleasure collabing with Malina ;-; We started doing duets in 2017 when she asked me to be the Hamilton to her Burr for a "Dear Theodosia" cover. After hearing Jay say they met Armando during Hamilton auditions, it just made me realize how long I've known her for. WE FEEL OLD. Here's to many more with you, sister ❤️It warms my heart to know I've had a friend like you for so many years that I can rely on.

Anyways, please enjoy Mutiny (which doesn't feel like a real word anymore from how often we've said it back and forth to each other?)! Scylla is next, then Suffering. Unsure if I plan to do Different Beast since it's very chorus driven and Scylla certainly KILLED me, but we'll see (if it's requested!).

I love that the word sisters is implying that the army is all female so Penelope would be able to join the army and it would be better because odyssey would still be able to run the country. So i just imagine odyssey being like NO PENELOPE YOU CAN’T JONE THE ARMY ILL DO IT.
I like this. It implies 2 things
1. Ody went to war instead of her wife to protect her. Makes her desperatation to return all the more heart breaking in a way
2. Ody probably had more military training than her wife, which is why she went instead

This is amazing, especially that "EURYLOCHUS NO!"
Somni reaally understood the assignment here when portraying a gender swapped Ody. Not just singing flatly the exact same notes that a male singer would preform but adapting and personalizing the music to her voice and performance. Highlights for me include the "NO!" When the throat of the bull is cut and the best part of this entire cover, the emotional "I can't!!!" Response which is to my ears a perfect adjustment of the the emotional tonalities in a woman's voice to mimic but not copy the emotions of the original singer. Morso then 90% of the gender swapped music i have heard, you truly showed an understanding of the text that most performers not only don't, they can't.
This was fast, yet i can't find a cover of "Open Arms"

A detail I like from this song is that Eurylochus and the crew. Despite the Mutany couldn't bring themselves to kill Oddyesus. They defeated him sure, but then just left to recover without tying him up. A lot of angry lashing out but in the end they chose not to follow through.
