Walking Thru Hell Los Angeles Homeless Encampments Skid Row, lets walk thru some of the worst areas of Los Angeles and see the amount of trash and drug use here downtown skid row. The food lines are getting longer and more frequent as this situation is out of control.
Skid Row is a neighborhood in Downtown Los Angeles, California, officially known as Central City East⁴. It has one of the largest stable populations of homeless people in the United States, with an estimated population of 9,200 to 15,000 people⁴⁵. The term "skid row" or "skid road" refers to an area of a city where people live who are "on the skids," and it derives from a logging term. Loggers would transport their logs to a nearby river by sliding them down roads made from greased skids. Loggers who had accompanied the load to the bottom of the road would wait there for transportation back up the hill to the logging camp. By extension, the term began to be used for places where people with no money and nothing to do gathered, becoming the generic term in English-speaking North America for a depressed street in a city⁴⁶.

FIRST COMMENT HERE. I was reading previous comments saying how giving them food and clothing, IS ENABALING THEM, its not like people from there organizations and groups are handing them cash and things to use drugs with. I dont consider that enabling because food and water are basic human RIGHTS, so if we can make sure they dont die of starvation then us as human being have done our part and eliminated another stresser for them, a nother reason they dont have to pan handle, another reason they can not worry even for a second EVEN if their actions and choices did get them there.
If you feed animals at the zoo they become dependent.
@@renardfranse Okay, dependent and Enabling are different food isnt their addiction, thats good that they depend on food maybe they can do that long term versus drugs, and like i said id rather them EXPECT food vs drugs food is a RIGHT.

Watching this, I can’t help but thank God for my life. Some of us are so blessed. I’m not looking down on anyone. I wish I could help the ones that are trying and need help. It’s heartbreaking to see. We were not created to live like this . Sending good thoughts, prayers and positivity to those that are hurting, struggling and battling addiction or mental illness 🙏🏾😇

No one said you were an asshole because you have to pay for your food, so do i, you are SUPPOSED to, i pray your never in a situation where you can not afford to eat, not everyone in/around skid row is there because of drugs, a lot are yes but not all and it sucks that they can not pay or afford to eat so yes they have to depend on others, a lot of people and organizations give them food again because its a basic human right, no one should be deprived of food regaurdless of the circumstance, why do people like you always have to bring politics into disagreements. People are allowed to disagree and have different opinions, they SHOULD pay for their food yes, i think they should have to but they can not so if we can eliminate 1 more struggle for someone why not?

These are human beings with lives, that cannot be sustained at this time for many reasons. One reason is that we need affordable housing in America. We also need jobs that can pay a living wage. So don’t talk about them like they are the other because it could happen to you or me.
