Another reason why they might’ve went with Donald is because of the appearance. Cartoons are supposed to make you forget about stress and your life (at least for many). Peter is a little chubby, and seems like an average person, while Donald is a greedy sailor. Not many are greedy sailors.

This would be a great and interesting animated film. A story about forgotten character trying to make their comeback; some do it more nobly while others, because of their nature, do it more villainously. Yeah it’s a little cliched but sometimes the most entertaining stories have the most cliched plot lines.
