Thanks for posting the videos. I was at Wurtsmith from 82-92; Environmental Systems. It's sad to visit the base now, to know it was once a thriving community.
Man, I miss those days!!!! I grew up near Carswell AFB, miss the MITOs with the B-52's & the KC-135's...RAW POWER BABY ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT!!!! It's just not the same anymore...
@ypaul83 I'd be careful about using the phrase "trail of smoke" because once we were at altitude, we might leave "contrails" short for condensation trails or vapour trails; artificial clouds that are the visible trails of condensed water vapour made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. As the hot exhaust gases cool in the surrounding air they may precipitate a cloud of microscopic water droplets. If the air is cold enough, this trail will comprise tiny ice crystals.
I used two videos plus a sound track to make this clip. The crewdogs voice-over was made from our sortie during December '90 while the video shown was made during the early summer of '91

was at wafb in 71/72,brings back the memorys.
These videos of Wurtsmith were shot anywhere from December 1990 through June 1991
Brings back some grins! 12 hours later and it's off to Bob's breakfast hut for some chow!
SAC is back!
The water wagons put out a lot of smoke...as I recall 10,000 pounds of water in 120 seconds on takeoff.
12 hours to Bobs Breakfast Hut! Lets shorten the transition and debrief and get to the greasy spoon fast before sunrise. Great memories 524th!
B52Freebird,thank you
I will, but it will be awhile to get to it...
B52Freebird, can you upload this without the music? I would love to hear the engine sounds!
what year were these videos shot? i may have been living on the base...i miss home badly

Wurtsmith was the best. Loved the 379th. I’ll never forgive McPeak for disbanding SAC. Global Strike Command just ain’t the same. Those were the days.
Altimeter is 30.60 wow that's some high pressure
what's with the US Navy music ? That's Top Gun... !
If you knew the history behind why I made these videos, maybe you would not be so judgmental
@B52Freebird Get rid of the stupid music!!!! The air traffic controllers, pilots, and engines are all you need to hear.
The 80s top gun music ruined this video!
crazy pollution haha
