I'm so sorry about the loss of your mom so soon after you moved to Jamaica. The time we have with our parents is never enough. You are a wonderful teacher... it just flows out of you. You've inspired me... I ordered my first Ankara fabric. I'm not sure what dress I'm going to make but definitely a maxi. The fabric is very vivid. Yours for this dress reminds me of stained glass. It's absolutely beautiful - just as you are, Anmaree.
Thank you for being so articulate, and being such a great teacher. I LOVE that fabric, by the way. And I’m quite busty, too, and those deep V ‘s aren’t something I thought about ever wearing. I love you taking time to tell your story while you trimmed. Thanks for that. I am so glad you took time to tell about it. Baby hems - we got it. I hope you will continue loving Jamaica.
Sorry, I'm so late. I just found the comment bar on my dashboard. I have missed so many comments. Thank you for watching. I ended up adding a strip of hook an eyes to the neckline. It works like a charm.
Hi Anmaree, I love your vibe, your voice, your authenticity and your wow style! You have a big personality (although not at all overbearing) and I find that your choice of vibrant fabrics and strong dress patterns suit you so well. I have subscribed and am enjoying watching all your lovely dressmaking.
Thank you , for supporting me. I love having so many partners in crime. I have loved sewing all of my life and now I have found all of these other fellow sewers. It's amazing. I'll keep on making videos as long my machines keep sewing!
Displaying the can cans is a cute idea but it'll take up a lot of wall space too. I thought of a couple of pretty hat boxes that you can stack. Love all your shows! You sure get a lot of cutting out done. I don't care for that part of sewing. I'd rather be on the machine! But can't do one without the other! Lol! Happy sewing!!!
RUclips algorithm seems to know me so well, since it recommended your videos. This channel has become one of my favorite ones. Excellent in every aspect. We have similar stories and interests: I am loving my retirement, I am doing the things I enjoy (although my sewing is nowhere near as nice as your work), I love to read, etc., etc. This time is the best time of my life, and I can understand how you feel. Thank you for your videos. They are instructive, inspirational, and calming, all at the same time. Your sewing makes are vibrant and lovely--just like you.
"It's a gift and a curse."😂😅😂. The Ankara fabric is so comfortable and I love the colors. too. I saw this fabric in grey, red, and blue in Montreal. Thanks, for watching.🥰🧵
Your dress is stunning! You are a beautiful woman inside and out. I realize that you don't have to know a person for a long period of time to get a glimpse of who they are. The story you shared near the end of your sewing was beautiful. I retired early as well,8 years ago and went through stages of feeling guilty about having extra time to do things. No more! I am enjoying life a growing with life's ups and downs. May God bless you as you are a blessing to others.
Thank you, for the blessings. I accept all the spiritual help I can get. I hope you enjoy this content. It makes me feel closer to the career I left prematurely. I am glad that you are a light for me since I am only three years in. I'm getting the hang of it though!😊
The dress is stunning. Really beautiful on you. I also could relate to where you are in life. My mom and grandmom passed within a month of eachother. I'm at a point now where I'm learning that it's ok to make time for the things I love. I stopped a number of things while I was caregiving and it's hard now to feel like I have the right to play my bass, do more sewing, sleep lol. You're closing words were helpful for me. I look forward to seeing more videos :) Thank you
I'm glad my words resonated with you. I am still learning to slow the wheel and ask myself what I want to do with the rest of my life. You will find YOUR way. Just wait and see. 🥰🧵
Thank you so so very much for your beautiful video - you’re so helpful and kind ❤ I totally agree, make time for the things that you love. I’m going to try and make a version of this dress for my wedding blessing! 😅❤
I came across your your channel earlier this week and I'm already obsessed and have almost completed a tunic and have cut out 2 more tops. I am also getting to grips with being an early retiree and having the time to do exactly what I want, when I want. Keep on posting your are an absolute inspiration. Stay blessed
Thanks so much. It feels so good to have company. I finally free to do the things I want. Sewing has never gotten old for me. Keep sewing and cutting. It is the best kind of therapy.🧵🪡🥰
Love your enthusiasm and your dedication to the craft I am truly inspired by your work and also know that you are nearby Pings are our favourite place to hang out lol Thanks for the shout out to Rochelle Handmade Design and Creativitee by T for the five and below project
Thank you so much! I love Pings! You never know what you are going to find there. I have made the most amazing things from their clearance section. Keep watching and I'll keep shopping at Pings!😂
I loved this video. Your story was touching. I have somewhat a similar situation. I am newly retired. I love being in my sewing room, but can't seem to stop everything else and sew all day long. A sewcation is what i try to have. Like you I run a household and there is always something that stops the whole sewcation day🤨 Sometimes it's me Anmarie! Loosing focus. I can never complete a garment i 1 day. It's like I lost my i my sew-jo even though I spend time sewing. Go figure 🤔 Anyway i do enjoy you enjoying yourself. You are encouraging 🥰 Enjoy your vacation ❣
Pammi, give yourself a minute! How many years did it take for you to rev up for the work force?? You can't expect to power down quickly. Just try to get 15 minutes in a couple of days during the week. It may be only enough time to string your machine. Having a dedicated space to sew (hopefully, with a door that locks) goes a long way, too. This stage of your life HAS TO include time for you. It's only fair. "A tree without leaves can't give shade"
Thank you, it was a joy to make. I'm thinking of doing a velvet one, but it's so warm in Jamaica. My daughter wants one in black. Thank you, for tuning in.
I can't thank you enough for this sew along and inspiration. My children are now young adults 29 and 20. I am entering that time in life where my husband and I are getting back to basics and IT FEELS AMAZING!
Thank you. I LOVE life skills! I hope you enjoy the content. Please, let me know if there is anything I can address (if you are still teaching Life Skills).
Loved the sew along. I bought that same fabric but didn't choose pattern yet. I do not have the Vogue pattern. I like the idea of black binding to break it up. May use that idea!
Yes, it can. I have made it many ways. The front is wide enough to fit your head through. Sorry, it was sop long to respobnd to your comment. I did not see it.

Great tip! We all seem to have our things we don't like to do. I love to cut out , but I hate to top stitch my quilts.
Lovely personality. Thank you so much for patiently explaining how to make a French seam. I always wanted to try it, now I will😂
You’re welcome ! 🥰🧵🪡

Ditto, what she said.
What a delightful comment. I just had to get ut of my own way and accept the blessings that I have been given. I hope you always enjoy this channel.🥰
Hi Anmaree. Loved this video. Your dress fabric reminds me of church stained glass windows. I’m amazed at how many pairs of glasses you have.

Very enjoyable video. We share similar stories. And, I agree that now that I am retired i am taking the extra time to French seam my garments.
It’s the best sewing of my life because it is filled with joy and patience.🤩
I love Marcie's channel! I just got the pattern and can't wait to make it. Thanks for your video.
You're welcome. I have 2 because I've used it sew much! Post when you finish. I would love to see your version.
I love watching you and your makes. Thank you for explaining French seams
You're welcome. It was my pleasure!

Nice job on the maxi.
Love you the fabric
It is absolutely beautiful!

Yay!!! I found the same fabric in Montreal, Canada. It was grey, red , and a brilliant blue. I wish I had bought some of it!!
❤️❤️❤️
No worries! Vogue re-issued this pattern as V1735. The envelope has a live picture, but it is the same pattern. Keep making!
Nice!
Hey, Bro. Thanks for the comment.😘
Omg, I have the same hearts fabric, and am not sure what to make with it.
I love this fabric; reminds me of stained glass! Do you think this could be made without a zipper?
Yes, it can. I have made it many ways. The front is wide enough to fit your head through. Sorry, it was sop long to respobnd to your comment. I did not see it.
❤️, would U tell us what size zipper you used. ❤️
Sure! I used a 7 inch invisible zipper in the front.
Where do you get satin bias tape binding?
Hi, Kathy. My local fabric store sells it. They have no online presence. Sorry.
