I'm so sorry about the loss of your mom so soon after you moved to Jamaica. The time we have with our parents is never enough. You are a wonderful teacher... it just flows out of you. You've inspired me... I ordered my first Ankara fabric. I'm not sure what dress I'm going to make but definitely a maxi. The fabric is very vivid. Yours for this dress reminds me of stained glass. It's absolutely beautiful - just as you are, Anmaree.

Thank you for being so articulate, and being such a great teacher. I LOVE that fabric, by the way. And I’m quite busty, too, and those deep V
‘s aren’t something I thought about ever wearing. I love you taking time to tell your story while you trimmed. Thanks for that. I am so glad you took time to tell about it. Baby hems - we got it. I hope you will continue loving Jamaica.

Sorry, I'm so late. I just found the comment bar on my dashboard. I have missed so many comments. Thank you for watching. I ended up adding a strip of hook an eyes to the neckline. It works like a charm.

Hi Anmaree, I love your vibe, your voice, your authenticity and your wow style! You have a big personality (although not at all overbearing) and I find that your choice of vibrant fabrics and strong dress patterns suit you so well. I have subscribed and am enjoying watching all your lovely dressmaking.

Displaying the can cans is a cute idea but it'll take up a lot of wall space too. I thought of a couple of pretty hat boxes that you can stack. Love all your shows! You sure get a lot of cutting out done. I don't care for that part of sewing. I'd rather be on the machine! But can't do one without the other! Lol! Happy sewing!!!

RUclips algorithm seems to know me so well, since it recommended your videos. This channel has become one of my favorite ones. Excellent in every aspect. We have similar stories and interests: I am loving my retirement, I am doing the things I enjoy (although my sewing is nowhere near as nice as your work), I love to read, etc., etc. This time is the best time of my life, and I can understand how you feel. Thank you for your videos. They are instructive, inspirational, and calming, all at the same time. Your sewing makes are vibrant and lovely--just like you.

Your dress is stunning! You are a beautiful woman inside and out. I realize that you don't have to know a person for a long period of time to get a glimpse of who they are. The story you shared near the end of your sewing was beautiful. I retired early as well,8 years ago and went through stages of feeling guilty about having extra time to do things. No more! I am enjoying life a growing with life's ups and downs. May God bless you as you are a blessing to others.

The dress is stunning. Really beautiful on you. I also could relate to where you are in life. My mom and grandmom passed within a month of eachother. I'm at a point now where I'm learning that it's ok to make time for the things I love. I stopped a number of things while I was caregiving and it's hard now to feel like I have the right to play my bass, do more sewing, sleep lol. You're closing words were helpful for me. I look forward to seeing more videos :) Thank you

I loved this video. Your story was touching. I have somewhat a similar situation. I am newly retired. I love being in my sewing room, but can't seem to stop everything else and sew all day long. A sewcation is what i try to have. Like you I run a household and there is always something that stops the whole sewcation day🤨 Sometimes it's me Anmarie! Loosing focus. I can never complete a garment i 1 day. It's like I lost my i my sew-jo even though I spend time sewing. Go figure 🤔
Anyway i do enjoy you enjoying yourself. You are encouraging 🥰
    Enjoy your vacation ❣

Pammi, give yourself a minute! How many years did it take for you to rev up for the work force?? You can't expect to power down quickly. Just try to get 15 minutes in a couple of days during the week. It may be only enough time to string your machine. Having a dedicated space to sew (hopefully, with a door that locks) goes a long way, too. This stage of your life HAS TO include time for you. It's only fair.
