- During Morgan State's 21-7 win over Winston-Salem State, the Bears' Edwin Baptiste made one of the greatest football pass catches ever caught on video.
With the Bears' offense backed up into its own end zone, quarterback Carlton Jackson tosses the ball down the middle of the field. Edwin Baptiste leaps, extends one arm and manages to tuck the ball to his chest before landing on his back and doing a flip before coming to rest near the 38-yard line.
By far one of the best catches ever, amazing grab, hard landing, flips and still holds on. I can't even do that in my sleep
Yeah that'd definitely be difficult to do in your sleep
@@Anipaper_ funny, damn 13 years later
@@StateOfShock just found the video for the first time, absolutely amazing catch
Every great catch starts with a terrible throw.
Nasjere Williams Best comment !
Why do you think Odell has to make so many good catches
That’s my teacher
this was uploaded 2008 where's this kid now?
Just looked him up. He went undrafted in 2010. He only weighed 166 lbs so he probably would have snapped his shit in the NFL.
who doesnt love this catch. best catch ive ever saw by far
Guess what
Ive watched this so many times. Never gets old haha
Best catch I've ever seen. Others will put up other catches and I know reasonable people can disagree, but to me this young man made the greatest catch in football history.
Top 3 favorite catches
3. Calvin Johnson jump back one hand (college)
2. This catch
1. Tyrone Prothro TD catch (college)
It's crazy, I watched this for the first time today. Then I saw Odell Beckham Jr.'s catch just now watching the Cowboys'/Giants' game. Nearly identical to this one.
This catch is better then the Odell Beckham Jr catch cause Edwin Baptiste has to jump much further backwards to make the catch.
Dan Livni but there was no P.I or the sideline and OBJ's was against better competition
TyEazie
a catch is a catch lol
This catch is what made Beckham want to try it. Thus the pregame practicing of the catch.
And, there was indeed offensive pass interference that was never called on Beckham's catch.
So this one reigns supreme. Beckham's catch: wannabe material and unoriginal.
jlaw4452 except OBJ did it with 3 fingers lol
Been around a long time & even including pro ball this is the best catch I've ever seen. Young man's impressive
No one says it's new. It's still amazing. Never seen a catch like that in the last 4 years.
Just coming back to this in 2024. I never knew this happened at Morgan State.
Best catch I've ever seen!
Absolutely amazing catch !!
30 second commercial for a 30 second video.

Brandon Foster
Thanking you now.
Shawn Delve or use Google Chrome and also get Adblock. not adblock plus. ive blocked 56772 ads total in about 5 months
***** lol white kids... there damned milky smooth skin colour !!! damn them adans
***** fucking spoiled white kids. Because didnt you know, only white kids are spoiled. And why you hating on him anyways? If he's spoiled it's probably because his parents busted their asses to spoil him. he didn't say shit to offend you, sit down
This video will most likely will be showed all around the internet and that young man right there may become pro
masterful. that kid played multiple sports growing up. Had to! Football alone will not give you that kind of athleticism.
Ohhh what!?! That was sick
Still not as good as Tyrone Prothro's catch!
Pablo Urbina his catch was awesome too, but this one has got to take the cake.
I know we live in a "Prisoner Of The Moment" world these days & everyone's talking about the O'Dell Beckham Catch. ODB's catch was good but i still think the one in this vid is better.
Shorter throw (less speed on the ball coming down) and smaller football size (NFL ball larger than college - harder to secure one handed)
Harry Balls ODB did it with 3 fingers
Also Odell had to maintain body control to stay in the end zone and not fly out of bounds
+Rez SneakerHead so what. Did Obj almost do a backflip and it was a longer throw btw. From the end zone to the forty yard line. So in our OPINION this catch was cooler and better.
Jordan, If you are going to argue about the size of the balls, (which are pretty much the same size, circumference is like 1/2 different) then you have to argue about size of the player's hand and Odell's hands are a lot bigger than Edwin Baptiste, I guarantee that.
Truly a great catch.
Phenomenal catch! Truly the best ever as far as I'm concerned!! Anyone want to chime in???
0:12 #38: "Well would you look at that!"
Personal favorite catch so far
Same
He knocked his breath out with that one but kept it together... Nice!
That was seriously impressive. *applauds*
#38 though "this nigga here"
Lmfao 😭😭😭
this > OBJ's catch
Hella cap
THAT was the sickest catch ive ever seen.
Wow!! What a great. Catch!!
technically wasn't touched... so why didn't he keep going?
NFL rules...
neozeonsolid NCAA rules actually, NFL players are allowed to continue running if untouched
Justin Formoso yeah thats what I meant
neozeonsolid Justin Formoso oh ok I'm not at all into football I just remember an oregon vs auburn game where a guy kept running. I still don't know whether a team is pro of college, but whatev :)
Well the play that you are talking about in the Oregon- Auburn game the player's knees never touched the ground... and this is clearly not the NFL
This catch is nowhere near as good as the Beckham catch. He is falling straight back with no obstruction on his arms. Beckham had to contort his body to the right while his one hand was obstructed, reach behind with one hand brace his body for the impact of the fall and maintain the ball in that one hand.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Beckham is also a professional football player in the NFL with way more experience
He's still went through college this kid hasn't
Also more expericne knowing how to move the body
yeah, Beckhams catch was better but let's not go bashing this kid here. This WAS a hell of a play.
Ofc this is one of the best ever !
Finally a video title that might actually be true!
This man is my new hero! WOW!
I was skeptical at first because of the title but I was wrong that was one of the best catches I have seen. Better than most of the amazing catches that Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald have made in the past.
0:11 number 38 is like "What the hell?!" lol
He caught and secured the ball while still in the air before anything touched the ground (much less his knees, as his back was the first thing to hit the ground), which means it was a catch.
regardless of what division that was thats incredible hand eye and great timing to pull that ball in. Theres a number of D1 players who couldn't make that grab
That kid guarding him is just like "I ain't even mad bro"
The School in the Red Is Winston Salem State University.. The best school in the CIAA when it comes to football, loss to Valdosta State last year in the National Championship. I know because I played for the Rams I was on the sideline when he caught that ball.
Don't let the media define what's great. This catch was with a wet ball. Amazing catch
The most amazing part of the catch was that he held on to the possession of the ball
Dat determination doe.
Wow!!! Talk about amazing....
Best catch I have ever seen
Someone was right near him so it's an auto-down right there,
and I dont think anyone would even think of running even after making such an awesome catch
hell of a jump nice catch he is the new Calvin Johnson
It's like he has Velcro on his hand. ^^ Awesome catch!
Damn fine catch. Not sure if it beats Tyree or Beckham Jr's catches but that's sort of splitting hairs.
THAT WAS SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way to GO!
still the greatest catch ive ever seen, now 12 years later
14
AMAZING CATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easily the best catch ever.. Well done sir.
His is amazing
WOW! That was insane...
Best catch I've ever seen
In the NFL, yes. In college, if the player is down, the play is over.
Best catch I've seen
That catch was naaaassssttttyyyy!
Incredible.
Wow all I could say is wow amazing catch
The best catch I've ever seen when it was bills against Seahawks
This is one of the best receptions of all time
Genuinely made me go 'Oh my God'
broken spine,tailbone,neck,arm,leg beside that awesome
Wow we will see him in NFL next year ! :D
even if it was his first catch it still gave his team a momentum swing football is a team sport man don't look at the negatives
That is some serious concentration.
thats a sick catch
This is still the best catch ever, topping even Odell (no diddy)
Id like to see this done in the NFL
Sick catch
amazing catch, wish I could do that!
Reading the description is always recommended...
My right ear is enjoying this...
that totally deserves my like!
damn bruh you and me both i was thinking "yeah probably one of those rare opportunistic plays" but damn! little dude made it happen, easily one of the best catches ive ever seen...would love to see it to win a supebowl at the last minute with a touchdown :),i know it's a lil dramatic but what the hell lol
To everyone who thinks Odell's catch isn't better there was pi, he only needed to use 3 fingers, he did it in the NFL against man to man on the sideline instead of in high school against zone in the middle of the field.
it's college ..
My right ear enjoyed this video a lot more than my left.
Ouch... Almost landed oh his neck :()
Great catch o.o
Real good catch mvp
How can anyone dislike that??
AJ Green did shit like that all the time at Summerville and UGA
awesome catch!!
That was awesome.
That's the most amazing catch I have ever seen. If it wasn't for the magnitude of the moment of the David Tyree, Holmes, Maningham, and Eldelman catches in those Super Bowls this one would rank first as greatest football catch of all time. Too bad it happened in a meaningless game. Like I said, it's by far the greatest catch I have ever seen.
My right ear enjoyed this :)
That might be best all time catch.
My back hurts watching this
Wowww pause it @0:17 and it makes the catch that much more amazing
My right ear enjoyed the sound.. Can't say the same for my left..
I'm beginning to think some people hit "dislike" solely to see what kinds of comments they can generate by it.
I don't think that the competition is the issue here. That catch would've been incredible against a NFL Pro Bowl squad. No, he might not have been as open against quality opposition, but the catch by itself is of another world, IMO
Magnificent pass blocking by #71. Way to handle your block without getting him on the inside. You've got a future if you keep holding the line like that. Oh.. it's about that guys catch.
DUDE GOOD ONE. That hurt bad.
DAMN what a catch!
The guy who rushes the quaterback fell over LOL!
HOLY SHZZ THAT WAS LIVE!
Nice form!
you have to be fearless to let yourself do that without thinking twice. =]
