When I replaced my ECBA cover, I basically did this in reverse. The old desert DMP vest had the small velcro closure, so it was a pain getting the filler out and the new MTP vest had the large zip closure, making the armour filler easy to insert. My desert carrier had the same strap attached to the back of the vest. I'm pretty sure it's a carry strap for your helmet.
I just bought an ECBA liner in MTP. I will buy kevlar and plates separately on eBay, because it would be slightly cheaper than buying one already with bulletproof filler. Well, i'll go back to this vid when i will have to put the filler in.
Yeah that makes sense, but as I thought they rushed the ECBA out for the Iraq war it seems strange that they didn't update the DPM with a zipper when they added the plate pockets
For the ECBA vests the plates are a universal size as they are also used in other British armours as side plates. So in theory a small ECBA vest gives better vital coverage than a large due to the size of the plate vs the overall vest size.
@@madbgeno2090 well, yes. I've put 180/104 filler into 180/116 cover - the vest lost its stiffness but it's not so terrible. It works, at least. Just get the cover with the same height parameter: if the filler is 180/XXX, then the cover has to be 180/XXX as well. And if you chose a greater height - I bet the filler will slip down and up while wearing. So, replace only chest girth value (XXX) with greater ones. Godspeed.
@@madbgeno2090 good luck with this, but the chances that it will not fit are pretty high, unfortunately. I have approx. the same chest girth - this size fits only if I wear it on t-shirt only. To wear it on my winter jacket I need to use a larger cover. Wearing ECBA under the jacket works nice, though.

You only need a TV license if you watch BBC content online or with a television, most people don't even bother as you can watch everything online now anyway. Loads of European countries still have a TV license system not just the UK
Good to know, I plan to buy a ECBA soon but I wanna use the MTP cover, this should be helpful!

Just done mine, the blue ones are like the dpm one, sides through the shoulders. Not easy but doable.
I recently got an ecba and I have to say the seizing system is weird. The panel fits me but a cover of the same size is practically fit for a child
I got a 170/100, as I’m Asian and I thought it wouldn’t fit. I severely underestimated how small British people can get
LOVE YOU SOLDIER
Any chance of you having the original kestrel body armor?
I have the MK4 Osprey, wouldn't bother buying any of the older plate carriers, the ECBA is better than all of them IMO, anyway.
DDPM was brought in after DPM hence the more modern zip system

@@Weaponsandstuff93 my example of the DPM cover has the zipper
How do i even get fillers and plates for the ECBA?
Would the filler stop a knife
hey can some one let me know the size of the strike plate. is it 17cm 22cm?
Good video
Thanks
This sounds like a stupid question but are the front and back plates one size fits all for all of the plate carrier sizes?

If it dont have the liner in it can u atill wear
You can, but it'll look a bit strange
Did they make size 160/100 or is 170/100 the smallest i could find? Im 5'4" with a 39" chest
170 yea. 160 probably not.
Where can i find the vest with the kevlar liner and ballistic plates ?
Ebay
@@stahlhelmturtle9822 basically impossible to find a filling for the 170/100
Mike’s militaries has like two ECBA left in 180/104
My DPM ECBA has the zipper
Will the 180/104 filler fit in the larger cover (190/120)?
Any luck on getting that figured out m8?
