The Breckster didn’t really start the session gigs until later in the 1970s, and was in the band Dreams at this time.. but that is a mighty high compliment on Fogerty’s sax playing for sure.

You're so right. In 1969 alone they released Bayou County, Green River, and Willie and the Poor Boys. Then they took about 6 months to release Cosmo's Factory. That's 4 timeless, classic albums in about a year and a half.

It’s perfect in its creation and composition. Like literally perfect. The way he uses his voice to allude to the saxophone, then they balance and play off each other. It’s perfect.
They have such an amazingly broad catalog. Next, I am yet again going to call for the very long, psychedelic album version of "Susie Q." Please, before I get older.

I've heard this song for over 50 years and it touches the soul more now than ever. "Cosmos Factory" has been in my possession for just as long, a true masterpiece.
At 5:30 when Alex mentioned grandma's cooking with 4 ingredients.. Man. That hit home. We've all got a simple dish we look back on with fondness, just like we've all got a simple song that hits harder than it should. For me, it's spare ribs & kluski noodles, and "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac (RIP Christine McVie), but I guarantee for a lot of people, THIS is that song. Great job lads.

A modern genre bender is Tedeschi Trucks Band, know y’all would be blown away by the musicianship. Derek Trucks is a descendant and late era member of the Allman Brothers. I’d suggest seeing their live insanity, “I Am the Moon” their latest title track is incredible live from Colorado. Can’t go wrong with them, Bound for Glory, Don’t Know What it Means, The Storm, Shame, too many to choose from
I'm older and feel different aches and pains every damn day. But when I hear CCR music, I feel blessed that I got to grow up with this music from day one. I could fill a book with all the good memories associated with 60's and 70's music, CCR being in the top 10.❤
One of my favs by CCR, not the driving rockers like "FORTUNATE SON", "DOWN ON THE CORNER", "HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN", ETC..., but oh so soulful. "The Midnight Special" by CCR" is another great tune, in the same vein, an old blues tune with a CCR Midas touch. "Lodi" and "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" by CCR are tunes that I have always liked.
CCR transcends generation /time itself. I absolutely believe there Will be Young and old discovering/ loving this music in a couple hundred years. As long as people are around we will love John Fogerty 🥰

The next track you should do is "Commotion" which is a song they almost always did in their live shows and has some great riffs and guitar licks from John. I was born in the early 60s and grew up on CCR. I shouldn't even try to say I have a favorite song of theirs, but this one was always honey to me. Deceptively simple, bluesy, and feels like walking down a dusty dirt road in the late afternoon in high summer.
You should ABSOLUTELY hit this whole album. My favorite of theirs. If you don't get the whole thing, your next track should definitely be the opener; Ramble Tamble

As a roughly 38 year old who knew ccr primarily from listening to "the oldies," I had not actually heard this song until one of my bands started playing it, and it is easily my favorite ccr tune now.
John Fogerty’s vocals will definitely take you away. I feel the same way as Andy did the first time I heard this in 1970. When I was in high school, if you got in somebody’s car and they didn’t have CCR in their tape collection you didn’t stay. Lol. If you want to hear stripped down minimalistic mastery, you should really check out some of Chris Stapleton’s live videos where it’s just him and his guitar. The video of him playing Whiskey and You on Kix Brooks Radio is fantastic. Also Fire Away on Venmo, again, just him with his guitar and his wife Morganne singing background vocals is wondrous. Most people categorize him as a country artist until they hear him sing. If he’s country then, so is John Fogarty, and Janis Joplin!
Oh man, I've been hoping for a long time you guys would cover this. For some reason whenever I play this, I usually play three in a row, I play this, and then Feelin' Blue, and then Hideaway (Wish I Could). I don't know why exactly; they all seem like they fit together so well and they all just have such gripping narratives and such soul in the presentation.
They are one of the bands for me where I could easily go A+ or S on over 20 songs, without thinking twice about it.

This is the final song on this excellent album. It was a very nice way to wrap up one of the best albums ever made.

For some reason whenever I play this, I usually play three in a row, I play this, and then Feelin' Blue, and then Hideaway (Wish I Could). I don't know why exactly; they all seem like they fit together so well and they all just have such gripping narratives and such soul in the presentation.
This was the very first album I ever owned...... Still have a soft spot inside for this record ❤
