I was at this gig last year, and these two ladies are beyond amazing! They are never not incredible. Jimmy Barnes was also at this gig. And Vika and Linda came and sang The Weight with JImmy and the Tesky Brothers. And it was beyond!
The Bull sisters... another pair of Aussie gems... Linda started (White frilly top) Vika (the slightly older sibling in the white Jacket )Cheers Nick and to Phillip for suggesting it !!
@@aileenbell2248 Yes it was - they have been around for so long and played with so many of our legendary and international artists whilst maintaining a strong independent career. So talented. Stay safe Aileen.
@@kerrismith5986 Their mum was born in Tonga Kerri... The girls were both born in Melbourne - we'd claim them even if they were born in NZ ! Hahaha.. you know how we like to keep artists once they're here :)
These women are Legends, I can not think of any Singers or Bands that they have not Appeared with, Fixtures with Paul Kelly and are first with their hands up for Benefit Concerts like one for Fire Fight, always at the Sydney New Year Concert. They are Royalty.
Yes, Vika (white jacket) sang Never Le Me Go. She's a belter, and one of Australia's finest singers. Her sister Linda has a slightly softer tone. The two of them sound amazing when they sing in unison 🙂
Appreciate your work I’m seeing music that I probably overlooked years ago I’m older now and I think you’re showing me All bringing back stuff that I really like now cheers mate
Yes!!! I just love these ladies - they are so so so very good. Between their Black Sorrows stuff and their own Bull Sisters stuff, I've got I think 7 albums - just freaking brilliant.
This looks like Rochford in Coldstream. I used to work at the vineyard next door, the boundary is right behind the stage. My brothers still work there, and we could have listened to many great performances over the years, but you'd be surprised by the rear rejection. In saying that, and you'll love this That Singer, I remember a night after work, Jimmy Barnes was playing (and maybe Mark L). We were on the veranda of my brother's house having a drink, it was a clear night, and his house is slightly elevated looking over the valley. We could clearly hear Barnesy, even which iconic song he was singing each time. It was carrying through the night sky like you wouldn't believe. I just did a Google maps distance check. Barnesy was 5.8km away, or 3.6 miles!
Just a little more trivia for you. Vika and Linda are the same two who were back up singers in Blacksorrows which you introduced in your program recently.
Thanks for doing my request Nick, because I know the performance so well I watched it first with the sound off just to better watch your facial expressions, and I understood everything except the bit about the dog! Your passion for music is what makes your reactions the best, and it shows.
I was at the concert, it was one of first ones after 2020 lockdowns, so it was a half capacity crowd and socially distanced. It was a great day, with many artists including Darlinghurst, Tesky Brothers, Vika & Linda and Jimmy Barnes.
They are my favourite duo. They have been around with groups like Black Sorrows and sang backing vocals to folk like Joe Cocker and others. They are great :)
Vika and Linda were mainly back up singers for the iconic legend Paul Kelly and Vika is married to John Watson the drummer on this song a great drummer for james reyne and rose tattoo
The girls grew up in a South Sea islander community that had many parallels with gospel singers in the USA. They sang in the church choir and had the great black singers from the USA as their idols and teachers and they learned the craft very very well. They would hold their own with any celebrity singers from anywhere in the world. They are an Australian treasure. it does not come any better than them.
Visa and Linda are mainstays of the Australian music industry. They did some great work in Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls. Will send ina request for the Paul Kelly song "My baby's gotta bug" Paul Kelly writing, Vika singing beautiful.
I know you really like Paul Kelly and the Bull sisters ,they had done 2 albums as 'Paul Kelly and The Coloured Girls' in the 1980s,you'll dig it ,check it out.
Yes …. Vika and Linda went solo in the early 90’s … 5 studio Albums and some gospel albums as well….New album… The Wait….. new song Heart is in the wrong place…. Keep up the fantastic Aussie work…👍.
That was remarkable. Their voices are beautiful & soulful individually, but they sound like a whole sky-filled chorus when they sing together. Your voice is beautiful, too! 🎤

Saw Vika Bull play Etta James in a one woman show at Sydney Opera House a few years ago and it was GOBSMACKINGLY good.
You loved Vika's voice when she sang with The Black Sorrows.
You know it... the one that gave us them chills whilst dancing still haha
The Bull sisters... another pair of Aussie gems... Linda started (White frilly top) Vika (the slightly older sibling in the white Jacket )Cheers Nick and to Phillip for suggesting it !!
Wasn’t it Vicka that sang Don’t let go with the Black Sorrows ? 😎🇦🇺

Jimmy Barnes, Hoodoo Gurus, Jon Stevens, Diesel, Vika and Linda, and Chris Cheney. Should be great!

Australian music royalty right there
Just a little more trivia for you.
Vika and Linda are the same two who were back up singers in Blacksorrows which you introduced in your program recently.
Vika’s voice is so distinct, I had no confusion whatsoever about which sister was the one we were watching in the last video.
Thanks for doing my request Nick, because I know the performance so well I watched it first with the sound off just to better watch your facial expressions, and I understood everything except the bit about the dog! Your passion for music is what makes your reactions the best, and it shows.
I saw Vika and Linda with The Black Sorrows many moons ago here at our local club ..in Australia...they were brilliant.
We love Vika & Linda!!
Gives me goosebumps, have had the privilege of seeing them live.
The group Linda & Vika Bull were associated with was called The Black Sorrows
The guitarist Deon passed away last year, he was amazing and used to play at the pub around the corner from my house every Sunday. Rest In Peace
Vika and Linda have the most amazing voices ❤️ I love them also in the black sorrows
I'm seeing them again next month!! So excited!! Always a great show.

I love the bull sisters. But Vika gives me goosebumps ❤️❤️
First time I saw Vika was 35 years ago in a jazz band called “The Five Aces” . She was 22 and an obvious star even then
They are my favourite duo. They have been around with groups like Black Sorrows and sang backing vocals to folk like Joe Cocker and others.
