"oh yeah, hell yeah. He's back! He's alive! Optimus is here." - Hound
Awesome classic truck with style. That would be a great truck to turn into a cruiser Chris!
Who else was waiting for the truck to transform
It's "More than meets the eye".
me hehe
Cabovers Are Real Truck's. Drove Cabovers For 15 Years And Loved Them. 😍 ❤💯
Nice old freight shaker!!! Thanks for sharing dude! She's in pretty good shape
Cool truck, and cool story my boyfriend has me liking trucks too. He's a cabover fan and we play the same game going down the road. Every truck I guess what kind it is and I've gotten good. And I always yell Cabover when we see one. He wants one so bad
Cabovers were popular in the USA back in the '80s & down. When the law in the USA increased the length limit, that's what killed the need for them to pull trailers that exceeded a certain length.
Cool old trucks...they don't make em like that anymore !!
I could be hella wrong, but my understanding was that the single round headlamps only came from the factory till 1971 on the White Freightliner FL sleeper cabs, and 1972 for the single drive day cabs. After that, White Freightliner moved to the dual oval headlamp housings.
This particular truck seems like a mashup of several different year model design features. Maybe the fleet shop combined stuff from several different parts bins to find what worked best for them? (And now for you too?)
Sounds like you know a thing or two about them freightliner cabovers
It was a 1970 freightliner
I just bought a 1976 cab with the single rounds... I would say it was an option
likely depending on the model
I would have to agree that this is NOT a 1981 model. Sometime around 1974-75 the outside steps were changed to ladder type configuration.
Good looking unit. Just got my class A last February.
Yeah she's sharp looking for sure! And nice that's awesome. I got my permit a while back but never ended up getting my license since I didn't see using it too much. Do you use your CDL for work?
I remember seeing this from the road... the international is still there last time I drove by!
Someone should restore this. And turn it into Optimus Prime!
True dat
No. Restore and leave it original
🔥🔥🔥🔥what a Truck 🔥🔥🔥
Congratulations on your awesome freightliner I have a 1977 single axle sleeper also and just love it.
I'd love to own an old school cab-over semi. Not sure I'd fit since he said anyone over 5'2" it'd be a tough fit... ):
Autobots, transform and roll out!
Nice little tour , I had a lithium jump pack , after using it to start one vehicle it made a pop noise on the second attempt and never worked again. I brought it back for a refund and did not look back. Happy Sunday Chris !!
Thanks Richard. And yeah maybe there's a fuse or something inside that blew on this one. I don't know, they sent it to me free to try out so no big loss or anything
@@NNKH2 I hear you , I got mine at Harbor Freight. I almost did not buy it after seeing 3 or 4 on the as is "discount shelf". I decided to just return it while it was still under warranty after the pop and puff of smoke. Personally for me I have not had good luck with electrical items at Harbor Freight.
Once you've done it a few times, climbing in and out of those cabovers becomes routine.
I ❤ Cabovers
I have a 1978 with the 350 hp. Rad trucks.
Super, If its to travel far distance , would be good to add a bigger room plus shower and ready to travel across the Nation. I like that type of Truck liner . 👍
Most trucks don't have an on board toilet.
At a time past Schneider National had 14,000 trucks and over 40,000 trailer’s
Good
If I had known you were a semi-guy, I probably wouldn't have given you so much flack, I hope there was no thin-skin punctured, lol, that would be a nice rig for somebody to restore, all it needs is probably a few parts, paint and a whole-lot of polishing, great video, thanks for sharing.
beautiful truck!
On a scale of 1-10 of I need this factor it's at a solid 50
very nice truck
Very very good

I love Old Trucks Like this!
Make it More Sense to own a Truck Like this or better with 2 Axles in the back im a German Truck Driver so it Looks Like our Trucks normal 3 Axle Trailer and you Can pull up 26 Tons and have 40t complete but in Your Country i didnt Know it makes sense Because no Truck driving Simulator bring COEs to the Game Just with mods
A COE Must be an acquired taste!
I've loved them since I was a kid
I must have acquired it then.
A nice rig. I know nobody has the funds or nowaday why would they but it needs to kept up with outside of some kind of hollywood purchase.
Still for sale??
You like old car
I don't believe that's an 81..a 300 Cummins that's really old in 74 they had a 350 Cummins and 81 that was a 400 big cam and the single headlights that's 71 also that Freightliner is more of a 71 than an 81
Single axle red frame, looks like a cf
i once met the truck from BJ & the Bear - you're probably too young to know what that is / =
Did you sell it ?
Is it sold?
Do you have the owner contact info? Interested if its for sale
He ended up selling it I think within the next few days
If you ever had to drive that junk you would know why you don't see them on the road.
You can throw that little box in the dumpster on your way out.
😆
You tricked us TF fans bevuz its red and white
Looks like old CF truck......bare minimum
NGUTANG NGING SI OPTIMUM PRIDE!!!
amazing looking rig.
