First semi I operated was a 1957 White 4000 single axel with a sleeper had a 350 Cummins with an 10 speed road ranger transmission it was made the year I was born. My father had it for hauling crushed cars from our junk yard in Sanford FL to the place we sold them in Tampa FL my older brother was the driver. During the summer of 1971 I was 14 I would ride with my brother he would get it on I-4 pull over get out to check the load I would get in the drivers seat he would climb into the sleeper. I would drive till I would wake him up just before we go to Tampa he would take it from there till we were headed back to Sanford on I-4 then we did it all over again till we got close to Sanford he would take over. We had a yard in Bithlo FL where we stored the truck after the junk yard was closed in 1972 there was a forest fire that burned through the area destroying the White in 1973 I loved that old truck broke my heart to see it burned down. I know why Wiley does all the work he knows wat he is doing Hank is still learning. LOL
you can;t sleep on I-4 ANYMORE YOU MIGHT WAKE UP DEAD ......ONE OF THE WORST INTERSTATE WE GOT A WHOLE BUNCH OF NEW PEOPLE IN THE AREA .....NON DRIVING FOOL
There for a minute I thought it wasn't gonna start, but then it started with a roar! Especially when Wily was having trouble with the battery connections. Just goes to show you should never give up!! 👍👍👍 Good job Hank and Wily!!! 😎
I never thought how interesting watching old tractor and trucks getting started would be, and the two of you, Wiley and Hank are pretty darn good together, I can’t get enough of this!🔧🔧
Awesome to see that old rig fire up and come to life again! I was hoping you guys would see if it can still move under its own power. Maybe you can do a second video of it moving around the yard?
Watching this video reminds me when my late husband was OTR trucking. He drove cab over freightliner. He drive from North Dakota to California hauling produce. There were a few short trips to Wisconsin I was able to ride in the truck. It was fun and a learning experience.
Wow! Hank, you and good ol Wiley tackle anything don’t ya!!! You guys are awesome! In the dead of summer, hotter than heck, sweatin from head to toe, and another thing that surprises me, is that you guys don’t have that many encounters with nope ropes! Snakes of any species especially Rattlers down there in Florida!! Good thing right! Love you guys!
Those criss-crossed two inch steel rods look like torsion bars, they are designed to help lift the cabover by hand , I think. Good video Wilely and Hank
I didn't realize Hank that you had spent time in the UK as part of your military service. Awesome that you spent on alconbury I live 20 minutes from there!
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Congratulations to both of you for getting this old truck running. Good job hank and Wiley. My compliments to you both. Hard time getting the cab up but other than that you both did great. Wow. Thanks for everything guys. Nice job. The Iowa Farm Boy.
Wow you can't beat old iron I can't see one of today's fancy arse electronic motors sitting for 30 years and getting started by the guys you call when you don't want an expert you want a jack of all trades ,well done boys really enjoyed this one even Hanks jokes and singing is getting better Cheers Kym Adelaide
Good Morning Gentleman, I am so glad to see you again today, it is 11:44 am, at my house and it is 7/22/23 ! Today it is going to be 118 degrees outside of my house or higher! Yesterday was 119 degrees outside of my house, I hope it is cooler there, Hank and Willie ! 😊
Hey y'all. I come across your channel and I really like watching. I am a Former Marine Vet. I spent 8 years in the Corps. So thank you for your service to this country we live in. So what are you going to do with the truck when you get done with it? Keep it or sell it? Take care and stay cool.
Hey Hank this old white I remember they were new to a Dealership in mount Gambler in the south east of South Australia in 1971 it was a Road Commander was the Cab over there was a short bonnet 4000 and the big one was the long bonnet 9000 they had Cummins and 2 stroke Detroit engine options good trucks but never really took off Kenworth and MACK were the big American trucks in Australia .as always very entertaining Wiley is the best side kick Kym Adelaide
For your information . Old Cummins from 1970 era if you had no power at the injector pump solenoid , there was a way to turn the solenoid to manual operation. It would run without electricity.
Hamiltonville farms Love That White Cabover Hope you Can get it Up and Going Keep Up the good work Billy Lizza Uniontown pa Love Your Shirt With Jesus on I know I need His help love the video
I do believe that's a White Road Commander A.K.A Road Commodes we called them back in the day. I drove one of those in the late 70's they would beat you to death but it is kinda cool see one that still runs thumbs up guys.
In the back of the cab the jack is located there. There should be a bar for that purpose. You will need a strap to stop it from completely opening up. So nothing gets damaged
