Volunteering there got me off a really bad alcohol spiral.
When I did volunteering, there was some backpacker who consumed 7 plates, it was interesting.

I believe Crossways sponsored the diet of so many international students. Many I meet always say that they survived off Crossways.

bit of hari krisna trivia, they used to have one of the resturants upstairs where mcdonalds is in elizabeth st near flinders in the early, mid eighties, it was actually free (donations if you could afford it) at that point in time yeah. i also actually had stints of working in the kitchen there to earn my feed during times of homelessness etc, was thinking of joining them for a while lol, but couldnt get into their whole hierarchy thing
I only remember 123 Swanston. Started going in 1990 with Hugh & Sean.

My old man's not a loony 😠
I spoke to your dad a few times & met him once at the Northcote tunnel location. I never thought he was a loony. When Hugh asks what he was like and if he was a loony, he was referring to the conspiracy theorists that are looking for children in tunnels (Google Qanon children in tunnels). Unfortunately, most of the tunnels that your father was researching have become part of the conspiracy theory. When I said "I don't want to put the guy down" or words to that effect, I meant I didn't want to talk about the lack of success he had. In other words, I didn't want to discuss the 6 or 7 locations that your dad (or us) couldn't find, so I said "he never found anything" or something like that.
When I get a minute I'll have another listen. Most of the chat was fairly light-hearted. I'll delete the "loony" reference which should hopefully change the context.
