Welcome back to the bankrupt state of Victoria. When we lose our credit rating it’s going to get much worse. The private sector is slowly bleeding to death thanks to the crippling land tax. Melbourne is covered in graffiti, vacant shops everywhere. Thanks to labor governments the city is a shadow of its former self. 😢
Sam you are absolutely correct! Victoria is stuffed. By the way the City of Melb has just valued our Marina Berth at YE at $100,000 It’s a joke. It’s a rates & land tax grab and it’s water. The berths are really worth $25k as can be seen in the last sales. Check your latest rates notice! I have objected cheers 😢

Last time Swans and Lions played in the grand final they were called South Melbourne and Fitzroy in 1899. Two old suburbs of Melbourne, which in 1899, is actually part of the British Empire, rather than what would become Australia the next year. Now they are essentially based in Sydney and Brisbane. So they are not really outsiders from Victoria. More ex-pat clubs to my way of thinking. Do not think it is really stuffed the grand final week. It interesting in terms of whole history of the game and this league history. Also, one hundred years ago they both played in the last game at the MCG for season 1924. That season was actually stuffed because there was no grand final and Essendon awarded the premiership in some weird finals system with no grand final played. But Lions and Swans did play that last Saturday of that, football season at the MCG too. In 1899, when they actually played in the grand final against each other, it was at the Junction Oval, rather than the MCG. Did you ever play in a grand final for Geelong, Sam? Were you playing in 1967?
@@JT-zm7wz Nah, I started watching footy each season from 1978. The old fossil was still playing then. I think he retired in 1980 so he must have started plying sometime in the 1960's. Geelong played Richmond in 1967 grand final so if Sam ever played in a grand final, that probably the only season he had a chance. But hey, JT, I do get your point. Sam does look like he started back the 50's :)
Polly Farmer rucked in the 67 Grand final. I'm guessing Sam may have been injured because he had a pretty good season apparently. Was Farmers last game in the VFL.
During the first semi-final against Collingwood in 1967, Newman suffered a serious injury which forced surgeons to remove part of his kidney. So no Sam never played in a Grand Final. Newman played from 1964 to 1980 and played 300 games for Geelong
Hi Sam and Susan. I know you are a student of the English language, so I have the correct meaning of Hoi Polloi. Is as follows " 'Hoi polloi' is an Ancient Greek phrase meaning 'the many' or 'the masses'. It is used disparagingly by modern English speakers to refer to the masses: the common horde, the plebs, the working classes etc. The first recorded use in English is by John Dryden, writing in 1668."

Couple that with the misinformation bill, and to complete the trilogy, a digital currency and the phasing out of cash, and when they do that it'll be game over. A digital concentration camp. They'll control your movement, your finances and the thoughts in your head. All the while they've got us preoccupied with gender politics, racial politics, climate change, ukraine, israel, AFL, etc... The Voice to Parliament referendum was a sham. They're starting in Queensland, in fact you can inquire about it when you return Sam. Then the UN will step in and gobble it all up.
