- Today we are visiting Saint Joseph Missouri. Saint Joseph Missouri has come up many times in my favorite books by Mark Twain. Growing up in China, reading from Mark Twain's books, Saint Joseph Missouri was a far away and strange place to me. It is really amazing to be visiting the real place. Saint Joseph Missouri is a bit rough around the edges, but it still has a lot to offer. If you are a history buff then this place will likely be a thrill to visit. Everything from the Pony Express headquarters, to the house Jesse James lived and died in. I hope you will join us as we visit Saint Joseph Missouri.

I'm just now seeing this video. I live in Saint Joseph, but I don't think I've ever been to the pony express museum yet, somehow.

I can't believe that the city won't develop those beautiful buildings downtown. What a shame, such history and character.
Downtown is actually going through a huge revival right now! The st Joseph trunk co building (the large building right in the middle of the downtown square) is for sale currently. I actually have an appointment to view it Wednesday as a location for a potential business opportunity.
Stuff like that is easier said than done and there’s a lot of red tape and financial nonsense involved. Even if people have the means, sometimes they don’t have the time, and things take a small eternity. Springfield, MO is much the same way. Plenty of historical architecture, plenty of it owned, not a lot being done with it.
St. Joseph is the birthplace of actress Olive Young. Her parents were Chinese-Americans and owned a medical service in St. Joe. Later she would move to Hong Kong and become the "Mary Pickford" of Chinese cinema! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_Young_(actress)
