I used to play this flash game in middle school called 1066, it was about Hardrada fail invasion of England and the Norman conquest. Maybe a decade or longer later, all my friends are telling me to watch Vikings and I talk about the last king of the Vikings, recount the The Battle of Stamford Bridge perfectly, friends were just dumbfounded. Games can be incredibly powerful teaching tools, total war is largely why i did a second degree in archaeology.
Still one of the best history channels out there. The storytelling and artwork is still incredible and your videos always garner rewatches with full attention.
Thanks so much! Hundreds of hours between just us (two brothers). The algorithm can be brutal, so praise from a big creator like yourself is very encouraging! ~Chris
History Dose IS THE BEST! The Illustrations and the Narrator are second to NONE!! I absolutely love the way you present your clips!! You guys are the BEST!
These videos are the best! I love hearing the wild adventures of history's most influential characters. Netflix and the all the other streaming services could never deliver the justice you give to these people. Thank you so much! Both of you!
Bro you are so talented my god I never had truly any interest in history, but you on the mic and the fantastic artwork, you captivate me more into loving history.
Everytime I watch these videos I am sucked into the beauty of your descriptive speech and wonderful historic tales, which are brought to life with your narrative, thank you! My favorite are by far the viking tales like this one! Please keep doing these! Your amazing!
I've been subscribed to you for a while (the first video of you I've ever watched was the one on Alexandre Dumas). You never disappoint. Awesome storytelling and beautiful artwork woven together into epic tales that really bring history to life
This video did so much justice to the legacy of Hardrada, I love it. I've listened several times at this point. My mothers' side believes we are descended from Hardrada, our line being traced back to the 1500's in Trondheim, with graves adorned with the symbols of warriors and kings. Personally I find it a bit outlandish to assume we have some kind of great lineage, but if I'm wrong and they are right, know a potential descendant of Hardrada appreciates your work. Thank You.
Leaving their armour because of the hot weather ...bullshit Godwinsons army marched over a 100miles in mail...hardrada.didnt take his armour (mail)of to fight in the Mediterranean....as for that fat man on the bridge just more face saving bulshit.
I really hope you guys do more long videos like this, your writing and narration plus your brothers art make this channel one of the most enjoyable things on this site
Beautiful stuff 💛 Brilliantly done. Good work to all involved in this production. Excellent artwork, soundtrack, and narrative. Just awesome to watch. Thank you 👊💛👍
Somehow this masterpiece hits just as hard as it did when the episodes were first released. Nobody else on RUclips does it like HistoryDose does. An absolute banger, as always. Thank you 🙏
2 very nice touches - not seen in this chapter of history in documentaries / videos: 1: the accurate naming of Skardaborg 2: the use of the red and white (fighting man) Saxon War flag slight niggle, perhaps you could have used 'Jorvik' instead of York other than that - bravo
amazing presentation. The art, atmosphere, music, & storytelling just fantastic 💯. Your art style/storytelling would go fantastic w Timur's life too i think. Just imagining the wear on his face after decades of war as his story progresses. I'd love to see that.
Your brother's illustrations and your narration are fantastic. I can easily imagine you both teaming up on a strategy game or a medieval Souls-like project, given the dark, atmospheric vibe of your content. I’m sure even Henry Cavill would be impressed.
It's incredible these men were in their 20s, the strength of the brutality, the intelligence of men throughout history, and astounding. I honestly don't think there are many today, including our most trained soldiers who could survive those times. And those men.
you are delusional. This is Hollywood narrative, and the vikings were organized bandits who's "glorious" conquest was over peasants, monks and at best weak local landlords who's armies were of peasants, that's why they thrived in the Middle Ages where civilization was back to city-states and militarily was even worse. Vikings dissapeared as soon as civilisation got its armies back again, proving they were shait. Vikings just as Mongols left nothing useful, and Vikings pale in comparison to Mongols, in fact the 13th warrior movie is of course wrong, the Mongols trashed Vikings just as they subjugated their russky kingdoms. Christians are greater, not only subjugated the Roman Empire, but survived, unlike Vikings and Mongols, and Christian law is the foundation of western civilisation, and Communism is also a Judeo-Christian ideology, philosophy of God. Islam is plagiarised off the Bible... and the Christians destroyed the Vikings in the end. It is more important to out-think the enemy, than out-fight it - Sun Tzu
@@parthpagar6644 that's what being a man is about, I actually idolize such practices, also it's important to keep In mind that empathy and guilt and remorse are a entirely very recent social construct and morality is subjective, so you cannot objectively critize people that lived a completely different life than you, Christianity is the foundation of modern west values
Please do one on the Pawnee scouts! They have such a tremendous story that's so underrated! Especially with the artwork you use to tell the stories. Or even the Native American army scouts in general

That game was so good! I'm feeling nostalgic thinking about it.
