I was honestly really disappointed by my trip to Best Buy this past weekend. I went and was going to do the current deal AT&T has going on, trading my phone up, but there's too many cons:
      - 4GB Less of RAM available.
      - No expandable storage
      - Lower resolution (Even though I use my phone most the time in 1080p 120HZ mode, it's nice to be able to switch and go 1440p for movies) P.S. A smaller screen at that, with an unconventional aspect ratio
      - Nearly identical cameras. Using both I really couldn't see a difference I really care for anymore. Normal lenses are really good, I think all that needs improved anymore is maybe zoom lenses
It's the first time I picked up a new phone and was disappointed. I considered a Z flip, but I'm super concerned about screen longevity with those. I guess I'm sticking to the 3 year old phone because it's actually better now.

For the most part I always skipped two generations. Went from a S6 to S8 to S20 but now my contract is up and I just don't care that much anymore. Do I really want to "upgrade" to a phone with No SD slot and less ram jAND a lower res screen just to have a expensive bill and get screen burn after a year again? I mean MAYBE if I can justify an Ultra but a base 20 to a base 23 is just a downgrade in so many ways.
At his point id rather just get a used fold or a mint condition S20 ultra...

I keep looking at reviews for other phones, and I have yet to be impressed. Upgraded a few months ago from the S20 to S23, 100% forced upgrade due to battery degradation on my S20, otherwise I would have kept it for a long time. The build quality is absolutely better on the S20, it feels solid, like holding a slab of glass while the S23 feels like a plastic calculator. I have a spare A51 and even at 4 year old now, the cheapo phone feels miles better than the S23, feels premium while the flagship phone doesn't. The frosted finish back cover makes it slippery while handling it, as opposed to the gloss finish on the S20 which has mad grip.
Ergonomics are also better on the S20 which is narrower but slightly longer than the S23. I actually feel like I've been scammed by Samsung this time, not happy with the daily feel of this phone. In the future I'll will give other brands a go as I'm dissapointed with Samsung. Couldn't care less about the upgraded hardware and gimmicks that come with the S23. A lot of useless features which make no difference whatsoever to daily use compared to S20, unless bragging is your sport. Mostly this trend with the unnecessarily huge main cameras is plain stupid.

    • @cunjoz

I'm gonna become a proud refurbished S20 (battery, screen and motherboard replaced a year ago which makes it practically brand new) owner. I was meaning to get the S23 but when I tried it out in the store it felt so cheap. At work we use an old and beat up S20 and it feels so premium and solid. The aspect ratio is so much better.
Basically, your experience is identical to mine.
Moreover, a used S20 is 4 times more affordable than a new S23 so, I don't think I'm making a mistake in buying one.

Currently watching this on my S20, and only considering upgrading because a few months ago, I was checking the 🚒 tire pressure. I laid my phone up on the tire while doing so, and it fell onto some gravel, shattering the screen in the lower left corner. The fingerprint sensor also no longer functions. I have S20 and there is no reason to upgrade. Difference is minimal. You can not say that S23 is 70 percent faster. What I see is that S23 is 0,01 percent faster.

I always leaned to Samsung for the ablity to upgrade the storage with a cha ge of the micro sd card.. Why do away with that...That was the biggest diffrence between Samsung and Apple that always kept me coming back to Samsung when it was time to upgrade...Imo this was a big mistake doing away with that capability. Especially for video takers.....Errr

S20 has better sound when compared it with S23.
The only thing had me upgrade it its battery life is really bad and I lost nfc function and couldn't be repaired. Otherwise S20 feels way easier to hold in hand with its curve edges and display aspect ratio

Wow after reading these comments I'm pretty disappointed. I upgraded to the s23 from the s20 only because my s20 was having charging issues. I used to get excited when a new phone would come out because I wanted the new features. It seems as if smartphones have hit their peak and are going backwards.

I'm having charging issues too. It says there is water or object in the jack when there clearly isn't. Funny how it started after an update. The same kind of thing happened with my old Galaxy.

    • @CG_86
      @CG_86 Год назад +1

@Ripper218 I've had that issue before too. My most recent issue was getting dust in the port and the cord wouldn't plug in all the way. I think moisture sometimes gets in the port too which could've caused what you we're experiencing. I ended up getting an otterbox case with a port cover. That should help keep both moisture and dust out.

You sound a bit silly being that surprised that the s20 is still a good phone. It was at the top of its category when it launched and it goes to show how stupid people are for buying the new phone every year.
I still have the s20 and theres nothing in the new ones that makes me want to upgrade, except for the battery which is a little degraded.
I was considering upgrading just for that but seing this video has help me decide that im just going to change the battery for a new one

I got S20 5G,very good phone except the sound 😬 Heard a music from my niece's Iphone 15 and it felt so good. The bass and everything,it made me realizes my Samsung S20 5G sounds so bad, really blant and naked no bass at all. Tried googled it,everyone with S20 have the same problems. Tried solutions from Samsung forums (putting in Jazz modes, turning off Dolby) still cannot beat Iphones. Now i am afraid to buy S23 thinking maybe will sound the same.

s23 is garbage compared to s20, especially because of the price. s20 should be more expensive. samsung has turned into a cashgrab company and in my opinion they should be ashamed of themselves. with s20 you even get for free 25w charger brick, and for s23 you need to buy it separately. it's laughable what there phones have become. they could easily extend software updates for s20 because it's still very powerful phone, but obviously they wouldn't cause they wanna make you buy the new ones. but i'm not buying that shit. s20 all the way!
