  • Through recent comments and questions I've seen a couple notable misunderstandings being thrown around that I felt merited a video to explain.

    One of them suggested that using a DAC with the cable for Airpods Max was useless and could even damage the sound, and I explain why that doesn't actually make any sense and, for someone to suggest that, they unfortunately don't understand how sound (or 3.5mm jacks) work. In short, anything with a 3.5mm jack has a DAC, whether you've gone out of your way to purchase an audiophile grade DAC or not. It's literally not possible to use this cable from a 3.5mm jack and avoid using a DAC of some kind.
    The second is that using the cable makes no difference because Apple's internal DSP corrects for everything.
