    Some of you will know that I posted this video yesterday, I re-uploaded and edited it after Alejandro @JohnMayerGear caught two mistakes I made, and as always wanting to get the right information out there, I edited and re-uploaded. Hope you guys enjoy and shout out to him for all he does for the John Mayer community!

    Rene Martinez is the funniest guitar tech.
    "This here is a guitar pick. I'd have *this* in the rack, too, but unfortunately he has to use them out here. These are for strumming the guitar. They are held between the fingers. They are the best picks made in the world today."
    Rebecca: "Are those blue chip picks?"
    "No, they're made out of plastic.".

    You should most definitely do a video on speakers and cabs.

    The closest wah I've found to the Continuum/WTLI sound is using a 105Q wah. It's got the variable Q and a 15dB gain boost so you get that thick, aggressive sound he had.

    I can’t believe how much the RMC8 is going for now... holy crap. I got mine for less than 200 hundred bucks back in 2014 and it just needed some grease on the joint cause the button and sliders were stuck. These were pretty hyped before John was known to use them but damn it’s like they become gold once people find out he uses something

    I think it would be pretty cool to see a john mayer’s pedalboard history video! What pedals he used during certain performances, what was in the rack (if he used one) and etc. Boards like from john mayer trio, full band performance, collab performances (ed sheeran, alec benjamin, shawn mendes, and others), dead and company, and many more!

      This is something I’m trying to accomplish as multiple videos, one would be a massive video to do it fully justice but I’ll see if I can make something work!

    Great work man.just wanted to mention I think he does use a bit of wah wah for the studio version of neons prechorus in RFS

    • @JustinJeske
      @JustinJeske  3 года назад

      Yup he did! It isn’t really worth talking about because it was one small part that John never played live or stuck with. We also have zero clue what it was in the studio he used. So no real point discussing it!

    Hey Justin I would love too see an acoustic rundown I have no idea what type of acoustic amp John Mayer uses

      Lol i dont think he even uses one

    • @badhombre4246
      @badhombre4246 2 года назад

      He uses Avalon tube preamps for his acoustics. Totally not necessary to get his acoustic tone. It’s basically just di.

    Love your videos and john mayer. But has anyone ever been inspired by john's wah-playing? It not a thing.

    • @JustinJeske
      @JustinJeske  3 года назад

      A ton of people have asked what Wah he uses or think it’s one that he hasn’t used in years. This video was not about how inspiring his wah use is, it’s about information.

  • @kindofblue85

    John Mayer is using a wah wah on room for square ….. neon has a wah wah part ….

    • @JustinJeske
      @JustinJeske  3 года назад +1

      Yup on the record there was a part with some in it. It wasn’t played like that live or anything, and we have zero clue what wah it was. So it is so insignificant it doesn’t matter considering John really never played it that way again.
