A terrifying idea of a Superman, who was the hero, yet stepped into a sad true world now that he realized everything with man. Man, this is some freaky future Superman stuff! Great acting and effects for such a fantastic fan comic!
Conquering humanity is possible for superman but teaching it to be good is impossible because humanity itself is like black and white. In every good there is always bad and in every bad there is good no matter how much superman teach humanity a lesson it will never learn
Wow for something so amazing made so long ago, this is very underrated and I really wish more people saw this. I really like this story. It's a really cool concept and words can not even begin to describe how enjoyable this is. Huge props to the artist and animator along with the voice acting and sound design. Its dark but it speaks volumes and I love this a lot.
It's quite nihilistic story . HE could of SIMPLY conquered earth teach humas to be good and then ruled the earth. I keep coming back to this video every year. Great video, great voice acting.
I don't think so. The sins he's talking about aren't old grudges or far back decisions, it's current. "Not talking about the companies that run it but all of us could have made the choice to share." If we wanted to we could have solved these problems but we didn't and so are all complicit.
Well it is a really bleak onlook on humanity's fate. And in a dystopian future of American predatory capitalism this could be real. Although in such a future humanity probably would not survive even long enough to colonize another planet. I personally believe though this is not were the story goes. Human societies can change substancially. We did it it before. From a tribal hunter gatherer lifestyle in balance with the environment we became what we are now in 10 000 years. And we can also become a civilization who takes care of this planet, we are not inherent capitalists. We would have to replace capitalism with another economic model which could be called "economy for the common good". There is actually a real political movement called like that.
That's certainly true, but I interpreted it as any family connections he had were long dead. It takes a bit of head canon, but I'd imagine that any partners he had are definitely dead, and either they couldn't have children, or his children, in this dimension, are dead and didn't have/couldn't have children. I don't find it that hard to imagine that there's a universe where humans and Kryptonians either can't procreate, or their children can't. And also that their children have weaknesses that Superman doesn't have. And so then we're left with partners and adopted children, and it seems like enough time has passed that he's lost any of those human connections. He left for quite some time, after all. So even if his great-great-great-great grandchildren from adopted kids were still there, he would be very disconnected from them. Of course, this all assumes that somehow Superman can become a god, which is essentially both the premise here, and in other Superman stories. This is where perhaps the original Superman is superior, story-wise. The yellow sun makes him stronger and faster, etc., but he probably couldn't just fly around in space without a suit and a ship, once he left the sun's influence, he'd just be a normal Kryptonian. Which means I guess you have to pick what disbelief you suspend ;^)
On one hand I get where this is supposed to be going but the part where he talked about "to love and not to love" had me like, so wait no creatures on this planet don't wanna die or care about surviving? If I took a zebra and put him in a den of hungry lions you're saying that fear is a purely an Earth mindset that no other space creature feels? Greed, fear, love and so on are felt by animals too it's just that humans got a head start on evolution and brain capabilities.
extremely cool concept but not fitting for the superman character due to how he's written in the comics. Not necessarily the power level, since that seems relatively accurate... maybe just a bit weaker here than he usually is... but more of what his character is like. He's cynical and contradictory compared to his actual comic counterpart, but in another reality, I can see a superman who isn't exactly the most optimistic person in existence.
This is good for what it is, but I don't think this is Superman at all. His humanity and optimism is one of the character traits that make him who he is, a man trying to do the right thing. Not some sort of god figure that must put the world down, far from it. Now I don't hate this video, honestly. This could be some alternate timeline or a totally different character apart from Superman, and the narrative isn't so bad either. But this is my two cents on what I think.
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out other stuff by Moonhead Press! moonheadpress.blogspot.com x.com/DanielBaylissB x.com/MusikeDiDiable I looked at it like a story partway between "our" Superman and one of those alternates, like the Soviet one, or Ultraman.

@@EliotHochberg even if it is it's still stupid. Doesn't he think that there will be more civilizations like us? Is he gonna keep doing this till there's nothing left
@@base21 I think the idea is that Superman has travelled this universe, and humanity is unique. That may not line up with your impression of what other worlds would be like, but that impression comes from our media, since we’ve never met an alien culture.
@@base21 so then all writing has to be 100% accurate? That’s not my point. My point is that the story explores a different possibility that is at least plausible since we don’t know how other life might develop. We developed on a planet with competitive evolution, but it’s possible that other planets have cooperative evolution. And my mind, that’s what the story suggests. So there’s nothing “wrong” about it. It’s fine if you don’t agree with their premise, but it is a plausible one.
"I don't have the right to get involved ". *gets involved when he doesn't like what they are doing * Awfully hypocritical writing/character. They evolved just like he said they should . lmao what junk
Thanks for the comment, note that I did the animation and audio, but Moonhead did the writing and art. From my perspective, I liked the story because it's somewhat complex, actually. I always wondered, how does Superman choose who gets saved? Because he can't be everywhere. Does he pick the worst disasters? Only the ones that happen because he exists? Friends first, then everyone else? It seems to me that that is ultimately his biggest problem, as the longer he's around, the less pure saving he can do, what with more and more supervillains coming at him. In this story, I think his struggle is that he enabled humanity to continue, whereas if he hadn't been there, it would like either have taken longer for us to get to that point, or some disaster would have taken us out completely, or done enough damage to prevent moving that far forward. And maybe if it had taken us longer, we wouldn't have been so greedy and destructive, we'd have learned a lesson or two first. One way to look at it, therefore, is that he feels responsible for where humanity got despite drawing the line at making us immortal, and that as a result, he needed to take corrective action. However, another way to look at it, taking your comment into account, is that Superman was always hypocritical. Yes, Supes is the narrator, but he's unreliable, in that he doesn't see his hypocrisy. After all, if you look at "real" Superman stories, it's all over the lore. Which is what Batman is always telling him, that his powers make him blind to the effect he has on the world. Of course, Batman has a similar problem, since his existence is often argued as the reason for the escalation of supervillains in Gotham, while Superman causes a similar thing, but for the entire Earth. This was often also Lex Luther's point, although usually with a selfish twist. I would also say that you've missed the intended meaning of evolved. Although I agree that that part of the story is a bit confusing, I took it to mean more of an evolution to be better, not just the Darwinian idea of survival of the fittest. Yes, humanity evolved to a spacefaring race, in a sense. But I took it as spiritual evolution. In any case, thanks for watching!
