I challenge myself every time I have a project. Did this Monday ,gave myself $40 to buy a desk/vanity for my room and decluttered my room and bathroom. This included storage baskets and containers for makeup. I found an antique desk for $32 and basket $4 and $3 for a couple of clear containers. It really is fun! Last month did a $250 spare room makeover. Included rug 9x12, two twin bedding, paint, curtains. The paint put me a little over, but still very happy with the challenge. Never thought of timing myself though….that might be stressful….😅Excited to watch yours! - watching from Lake wales, Florida

More and more people are being stretched for extra dollars these days, so I think if you could more of these but add unlimited items already in your home which helps with the budget. I did it because I had 4 Birthdays that have to be bought for no matter what. I had already taken care of those, and budgeted for them ahead of time. As of 6/12, I will have spent $0. I'm proud of myself. It's been hard for me not to be on Ebay, so I've been shopping my house, and moving things around for a change. We had a 2 Big family dinner's here within a month, and That...will make me look quick at my budget. That's why I try so hard to say, I have Enough...just save for all those dinners. I've made it through though, Almost...lol, and have done without Nothing I actually Needed. I really miss thrifting, but my Savings is growing. Christmas Season will be upon us before we know it, and Fall is Vacation...gotta Save, Save, Save. There are So many Antique, Thrift stores waiting in the Carolina's for me to bring Home a few Treasures. Thanks Becky!

I was screaming do a patriotic tablescape as you were deciding what you project was going to be. So happy you went with that. I'm getting out my 4th decor today. As far as rules go I think you should be able to use as many things from home as you want. Things are so expensive, and we have them already because we enjoy them. But the thrill of shopping and getting something new just makes a person feel good. Concerning the fact that you already have so many dishes, why buy more? Especially like the brown ones you bought that you'll probably use again. How about doing a tiered tray or serving type tray centerpiece. Thanks for the fun video.
Thanks Denise, I did try to pick things that I would use again which is primarily why I went more neutral. I know I will use those plates with my regular decor. I have already repurposed the flowers I bought.

I would have used red, white, blue dishes,and chargers/placemat. Definitely no brown other than the basket for flowers. Also included white flowers. Loved your tablecloth and centerpieces basket of flowers.
How fun! Back in the day, I recieved a Cottage magazine every month that always showed the same vignette or setting styled in 4 different ways. Country, Rustic, Elegant etc. I always added MY category which I called Shoestring Budget. I would source my own home and find similar items to virtually create an eclectic version of their vignette. I wish now I had actually created those in real life and taken pictures. It was so much fun! As far as rules go...break them! I loved your tablescape!

Becky TFS. Very pretty! Very Becky😊 - - fyi I always make breakables open at the cash register. They and some customers behind me get annoyed but I think it’s my money and with thrift stores overpricing it’s a lesson I refuse to ignore. I would not have bought any flowers but thats because like you I still love having decorative tier trays and yours are beautiful! I would have bought that crock to add as a planter. It and the brown edged dishes would be well added to your amber and sunflower collection. And I would have bought just the large red white blue dinner plates. Just saying what I would have done. I also would have not used chargers instead those “napkins” would have grounded my plates as “placemats” instead. A flag on each dinner plate would have been my scape. How is your hb’s arm/shoulder?

Sorry I just saw this....but I wanted to make a suggestion. If you could find a piece of quilted fabric the same size as your table cloth I wonder that you could stitch it to your checkered fabric. And, drape it caddy corner to create a picnic feeling?

They and some customers behind me get annoyed but I think it’s my money and with thrift stores overpricing it’s a lesson I refuse to ignore. I would not have bought any flowers but thats because like you I still love having decorative tier trays and yours are beautiful!
I would have bought that crock to add as a planter. It and the brown edged dishes would be well added to your amber and sunflower collection. And I would have bought just the large red white blue dinner plates. Just saying what I would have done. I also would have not used chargers instead those “napkins” would have grounded my plates as “placemats” instead. A flag on each dinner plate would have been my scape.

I have done a few table scape videos with things I already own from my decor closet. I have such a big collection I honestly make a whole channel decorating just from that closet. LOL!
Sorry I just saw this....but I wanted to make a suggestion. If you could find a piece of quilted fabric the same size as your table cloth I wonder that you could stitch it to your checkered fabric. And, drape it caddy corner to create a picnic feeling?
