I honestly don't understand how you could construe it as "bad acting". The whole style is "on the spot documentary". It's supposed to feel uncomfortable/in the moment. It's supposed to be way over the top. This was a golden pilot.

Im seeing some people saying that the pilot was bad, i aint gonna lie i enjoyed this whole thing, most of the bits made me laugh, i also think this isnt the final rendition of it because if you’ve ever seen the kanye iceberg video, you’d know the pea body suit lady had a much longer skit.

@@frshprdc Most shows dont have The fully developed Plot until they go more in depth with it, The office...is just people in an office, but the improvisation of the characters is what many people Like about that show.
I think, the plot of this show would've been Kanye trying to get a hold for himself, doing his own thing without wanting to be bossed around by managers and security, and have funny skits included throughout.

As someone who has never really considered himself a kanye fan, but still is really interested in everything he does, I clicked on this 2 see what its about and I must say im surprised. I have had more laughs in the 30 mins this lasted, than i ever had in a full season of a netflix show. To all the ppl complaining about the bad acting or whatever. Kanye wasnt acting in this he was just himself and this shouldnt be looked at as a serie as how you look at like breaking bad or some, this more like a "day in the life"with a little script. The signing session, meeting the make a wish kid its all stuff that he probably really just experienced and used for the series. If this would have been polished up a little bit it would have been a banger.

To be fair this was 2007ish. The music is great for the transitions but all the actors vocals are unmixed and there's most likely zero video editing done either. Even blockbusters today are probably awkward onset and probably seem like bad acting because the actor has to pretend something is there when it's not and then CGI is added in later. This is a super rough cut of a pilot. Most likely random ideas Kanye had for a show but it just didn't materialize. Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious even tho it damn near had this style of intentional awkward camera shots and cuts.

It didn't have that low key wish fulfillment Larry David would do in something like Curb when he would stand up for himself in a socially awkward situation.
