"Of course they're gonna put up a fight! You're in their homes, you're taking they're children!"
The moment when Andy took of his jacket was the moment he earned a spot on the team. Wether he wanted it or not.
Literally one of the darkest things I’ve ever watched
You should watch The Promised Neverland. Look it up.
I know this was a year ago but goddamn when Andy decided to separate from the police and fight for the people was the best bit of TV I've ever seen.
Despite the horror of this series, the moment when Charlie rallies everyone together to fight back is one of the most heart warming scenes I've ever watched. I hope that that's exactly what people would so if this were to really happen.
I'm so glad someone else found this heartwarming!
We protect our own.....if this was to happen I know where I’d stand
Yeah, say what you want about humanity but the majority of parents would fight to the death in defense of its children.
I liked that but Andy, Gwens' former partner, taking off his official vest & joining with the people he'd sworn to protect REALLY got to me. Particularly his taking off his vest - the symbol of his job & tossing it away. The symbolism of the act was perfect, it showed who he was & where he stood. Although I doubt he was thinking of that at the time.
I feel this scene simultaneously shows how low humanity can sink and how strong its redeeming qualities are in all honesty.
The only scene in Who history to bring me to tears. Sad tears for the children literally being ripped from the parents arms, and happy tears to see the brave citizens stand up to tyranny, and say “No”.
Wilf's "it's happening again always gets me" in turn left
Typical weekend in wales
Not really
@@southwest2915 Yes Really
This really does bring to mind what Harriet Jones Former Prime Minister said. The doctor won't always be there to defend them. Yes the earth had torchwood and unit but even they had no choice but to give in to the demands of the aliens. How the doctor would have resolved this, I have no clue. But we know how Jack saved the Earth
There came a point when Gwen said, “there was one thing I always wanted to ask Jack, that Doctor of his, all those times in history, why he never showed. But I don’t need to ask anymore, because I understand that sometimes the doctor must look at this planet and turn away in shame.”
@@louisewestie989 alot of modern fans dont know the doctors Frist adventure he was willing to bash a mans head in to save his own life but it was his companion that stoppped him he knows we can be better then we are
I like how Johnny rallys an army to fight agents the British military even thou he knows he will lose he fights on and gets the police officer Andy to help
The look on Andy's face was one of "Do I follow the law and help take children or Do I do whats right and help save the children."
Do we follow the law when it blatantly allows us to do something so terrible? The Nazi's made it law that all Jewish people deserve horrible suffering even chilldren. Do we follow the law to the letter?
I was literally on the edge of my seat and talking to the TV as if the child actors could listen to me saying, "Run! Don't look back, just run!"
One of the finest sequences in a serial filled with fine sequences. Children Of Earth is a truly great piece of drama
Such a ridiculously good scene! Always makes me tear up when it came down to it Andy chose the right side.
In the episode of Children of the Earth, the real heroes are those people. They are really true heroes.
Andy joining the fight is such a massive character moment, he knows they can’t win but he has to try it’s right thing to do
Andy is fighting like his family is in truble so he is one of my favorite characters in this show besides Gwen and caption jack
Gwen is such a great character how she can be kickass one minute then helping out these kids the other minute.
Obviously she could have stayed to fight but she was best placed to lead the escape. She knew the battle against the military could only delay them.
Children of Earth has to be the best Torchwood ever!! some bits were hard to watch but Russell did a fantastic job!! this scene i love because it showed how Andy had developed over the series, he went from being a run of the mill cop to fighting back to give Gwen time to escape. he may of only punched one guy but he did his part.
i liked how Ianto's sister lead the way to get them out and get to the warehouse, great great great series
The Whoniverse is a Dark universe and this is just 1 of many atrocious events which takes place.
I thought this fighting scene was brilliant. The dad's having a go at the Army for taking there kids and credit for Andy at the End of that fight. Good left hook by the way :D
this scene alone shows exactly what would happen if the doctor never showed up to help
Human race, the greatest monsters of them all
Andy was so great in series 2 and 3, but I thought he was just in Miracle Day for the sake of it
I’m glad he ended up becoming a major character in series 6
2:01... abit silly taking off a bullet proof jacket when your about to run into a fight.
Maybe he didn't want to wear something that identified him as a cop.
Shows such a contrast when the government were talking about what classes were worth their kids being taken and these brave lads who they (the government) recognise as lower class doing the right thing and fighting to protect their kids which is more then what the government did for them. I would have fought side by side with these lads!
I really loved Andy in this scene...
Bloody more epic than Avengers Endgame!
I thought this fight was the best and well done for Andy for joining in
This series was terrifying and horrific and at times I couldn’t watch it and that’s how you do adult science fiction
indeed
this fight scene were a million times better then the game of thrones fight scene .. its exactly what id do for my kids in an instance
the scene where johnny rallies all the neighbourhood and Andy helps is possibly my favourite in all of who
Go on Captain Andy!
"OuR GoVeNmEnTs WoUlD nEvEr Do AnYThInG LiKe ThAt!!"
This is one of my favourite episodes out of the whoniverse
(Class, Doctor who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane, I know I missed some but these are the only one's i seen)
You only missed k9 and company if you're talking about tv
@@danieljohnson6975 yeah...let's forget that ever happened
@@scpromos9158 why it's alright
@@BenNightHound the problem with it is that K9 doesn't work without the doctor or Sarah Jane, he is a companion, not a main character, it's like if they gave Handel's from the time or th doctor his own show
@@scpromos9158 right, K-9 and Company was him and Sarah Jane, dumbass
Johnny calling in the squad.
it nice how the goverment think the adult will just let them take the children without a fght.
They didn't think that though, that's why they mobilised the military.
it makes me sick really because the government was willing to fight the daleks even without the doctors help but not fight 456 who are Cleary weaker than the daleks.
Madman loves freedom that's because there is another option than fight the 456
@@eeyorepiglet3131 Exactly the 456 gave them an option. The Dalek's were there to conquer plain and simple. There's nothing Earth could've given them and in case you didn't notice the Earth surrendered pretty quickly and complied with everything they said.
" of course they're gonna put up a fight! You're in their homes, you're taking they're children!"
This scene makes me cry 🥺
same here
I think the doctor didn't come because he knew who the real monster was and it was us.He was so disgusted by humans he chose not to help
Mike Rinehart He can travel through space and he can travel through time but he can't always be there. He sometimes lets humans make their own choice as he did in Kill The Moon.
The 456 are objectively worse.
i mean yeah thats exactly what gwen says at the beginning of episode five
Like the doctor said in class he can't be everywhere
I’ve never liked this explanation honestly, it feels way too out of character for The Doctor someone who’s broke the laws of time to interfere for much less.
I prefer the explanation some massive god level was stopping him, it’s a shame we never got that in the main show as an implied reasoning.
We'll give you 10% of the UKs kids (its okay we'll just give you Wales)
X Drive this was just one area they attacked
That’s what Wales is for after all.
@@profblack is that like your version of the American south
Best season of torchwood and better that the some of the DW's
Would've had the soldier for assaulting a police officer
lol
well the cop did hit him first
he threw down most of his uniform he was just Andy at that point
Yeah...and not for stealing kids from the street
Ah right, sorry, where I come from their is something we like to call a joke meaning a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter
And to think these scenes could be just around the corner now..
Got to love Andy!!
@draculon5
Also, it's not like every single soldier in Britain is going to have kids, so an extremely large number of them would be fighting against the government no matter what.
But on the whole, one of my favourite scenes in the series. It's because of things like this that I don't think Miracle Day will possibly be able to top Children of Earth. Despite the brutality of it, there's something kind of touching about watching all the parents charging in to fight against their own people.
the fight is the best but when i saw this i cryed like hell because it killed off my favourite character Ianto Jones :(
someone disliked this-give them to the 456
the start of the next episode its said that the doctor didn't come because he was so disgusted by the humans that he didn't want to help
crazyvicki18 that was just Gwen’s theory though
It would have been interesting to see a follow up show about what would happen to society after the government so clearly demonstrated they can't be trusted.
Bill DeBerger that’s a pretty great concept. Not sure how it’d factor into the narrative of a “Torchwood” series but it’d certainly be good to spark a “Civil War” type event where we have a divide on the events of what happened here in relation to the increase in alien activity. Maybe with recent Doctor Who taken into account this could be explored finally
We're living in it.
Realistically the mass majority wouldn’t know enough of the details. The government would claim they were buying time collecting the kids, that the plan was always what Jack did. It wouldn’t be known that The Torchwood team saved those kids.
@RedMatterProductions what nobody understands is that it wouldn't matter if their own children were spared or not, soldiers may spend their lives taking orders, but that doesn't mean that htey don't have their own moral code. What I meant was that British soldiers would know that taking everybody's children is wrong and would disobey.
Andy’s defining moment
Love seeing andy fight, even if he is down in a about 10 seconds! :D PC ANDY!
“Human Race… the greatest monsters of all” -The Master
Imagine being a child acting in Torchwood
RTD said the doctor us never comeing to torchwood
the hope lies in the proles.
@TBEClanMovies Besides, What we do not see is the Larger Scale Aftermath of something like this. If they actually got the children can you imagine the full scale war every government would have on their hands? London has plenty of guns...
london. what about the USA. a country were it's legal to have them
jesus christ i love this show
Very likely if such a command came down there would be infighting in the army itself and Police as well. A lot of soldiers themselves are brothers, sisters or parents to kids. Could be thinking ' it could be my kid being taken as well'.
I so loved Andy character. ..He knew wot was right....
Even with the promise of their children not being counted in I doubt the police would stand by and do nothing. Their job (and oath) is to protect the people from threats within the country. The moment the army was sent in they became that threat.
El Prezidente they are conditioned to following orders - you would also think people in the army would revolt too. In the situation it is hard to rebel and face the consequences of that.
Police do not protect the people. Police enforce the law. That's their job.
1:46 "AHHH...AHHH... MR SMITH HELLLLPPPPP"
Lol the army bit was funny
If this happens in real life then beware I will become a wrathful warrior of the gods and heavens
@Unknownfromme he never came and i think he would of lost faith in the human race if he saw what was happening... gwen says so in this episode
That's a likely excuse for a genocidal Timelord.
If that ever where to happen the violence the army would face would be undiscribable hell.
its gonna happen soon
We need God Back✝️✝️✝️✝️
I knew adults were always mean people.Lol
This proves that take are children we will fight
Our
I want some sweets!!!
Pc Andy Davidson actual love of my life. Would let him cuff me and take me into the station any day of the week
The Doctor would be proud of them
I love welsh accents :P
Just Gwen's guess.
@blaze2010x Technically it would only be stab proof, but i was thinking the same thing.
@nathanjcole You Start Using guns though and they start with them as well, They have Mobile MG's...
It eould have been a good ending to the show if they did take the children and we had a closing couple of shots of total anarchy, more scenes of rioting and a final closing shot of cardiff burning
Im glad they didnt take the kids so we could get another series of torchwood but if they knew they werent gonna make another one then i would rather a dramatic ending of the world crumbling than everything returning to normal. Idk just my opinion
ryan Is fat there’d be too many after-effects for doctor who to have to deal with
Hi
Should have slashed the tyres on the truck
Now I'm a guy that has an eye for detail...but jesus christ they really gonna give the Army the wrong helmets and weapons? This is a thing that happens a lot in the DW universe. I mean yeah i know they probably didn't get the gun license from Enfield but damn that bugs me. Otherwise great series
It is technically a parallel Earth so yeah.
if they got the kids?the government already tried to do it, there already would be anarchy
Jakezing One question for ya: Hypothetically, If an alien race with superior abilities to ours came and held the whole planet hostage. They demand 10% of the children and threaten to destroy our planet (killing a lot more people) if we don't give them up.
What is your choice?
Andrew De Jesus fight to the last
Andrew, Even me a person who believes in the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Wouldn’t agree to this. And would chose to fight.
this is gonna happen soon notice he said inoculations Jesus is coming ...Acts 13:38~39 Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the
forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from
all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
chav war epic
Now this is strange they are British army so why are they carrying G36s and not the standard British Army issue SA80 or the A2 Version could someone answer that please?
I'm not sure but it was the same in Doctor who. Must be cheaper to get replicas of that weapon?
In the alt world of Dr Who and Torchwood, the G36 seems to be just as in use as the SA80. Army units use it more than the SA80 in Dr Who, like in Doomsday
Brad Martin in the Doctor Who universe the army carry “weird guns”
To be fair there’d been at two governments we didn’t get in real life, maybe Harriet Jones had this changed for example
The neds will rise
London riots lol
It's in Cardiff.
this would of course never happen, british soldiers have children of their own and would never stand for this, they would all be like andy; fighting for their childrens freedom
Murcutio the army was threatened with their children being taken so they'd comply.
Who knows? Maybe the soldiers with children are not being sent out, maybe the Army itself is infighting.
