The counter point I would like to make for Troopers is that for most early to midgame uses you only need relics on DT for it to work, and R5 on a single character for that much of a performance boost is arguably worth it any time.
@@haven6455 But not one that's recommended as first any more, as Exec into JML or Jabba is generally considered the optimal approach, and he'sarguably one of the weaker ones
Interesting video! I told a guild mate that I'm going for Starkiller soon and he suggested aphra. I'm definitely going for Starkiller because I'm no where near aphra and I actually have a place to use every one of his reqs plus Kyle and dash's ships are farmed. Kind of interesting to see them both on this list though. I really agree with your reasoning behind delaying the Starkiller grind. I wanted to get him really early on and have been very patient waiting for the perfect window to get him. Jml, Starkiller, cal is my current path. Probably profundity or Leia after that.
Leia is great, I'd highly recommend her. not just for her but all her reqs strengthen a lot of squads! Even the Ewoks are alright with Princess Kneesha!
I see what you mean about SK, and the best time imo to get him is after you get Executor and then go into the JML/Profundity/Jabba pipeline. The intermediate farms give homes for SK’s reqs. Kyle goes with the rebel fighters you farmed for JML, Dash can lead BAM, Kuill, IG-11 (which you got for Executor) and random other scoundrels plus you’ll need Dash at R7 as you farm Profundity. Mara is self explanatory. Talon is a lingering requirement but hopefully you’ve built Sith Trio as a backbone team. I agree that you shouldn’t go out of your way to farm Rebel Fighters, so an effective early game strat should be to overlap a lot of these requirements.
Both Starkiller and Aphra are two powerful teams that don't require as many reqs as a GL. Personally I went for both of those before focussing on a GL and it meant I had at least two teams that could compete. Helped me a lot.
I actually agree with you with Starkiller, SEE & Tuskans. Starkiller I think it's a very good point to bring up the Cantina farm requirements, as the signal data cost from farming them will be rather large. Tuskans just aren't really an awesome enough team that it can definitely wait and it doesn't really lead into any big farms, maybe the one for Jabba but that's 1 of a 5 character investment. I'm not on board with Imp troopers though, that's still a solid team and it will do it's job for you, R3 is not a big investment and if your building Executor it's not a big deal to put Veers to R3 and Dark Trooper to R5. That's enough for them to never really invest more into all the way up to Kyber 1. So the ROI on troopers is still there.
Here me out, I farmed SEE as my first GL and finished him just before the SBR came out. The fact that both the SBR and this coming raid (as of right now) utilize his reqs has benefitted my account and has provided a ton of value. The Sidious datacron is also really fun. Of course, I just happened to luck out with that stuff and I couldn’t have predicted it, but SEE does give a ton of variety and doesn’t tie you too heavily to one faction.
I think SK is a very important character especially at early game. My first GL was SEE, being the most accessible and the cheapest, I couldn’t beat anything with him not having Wat and armorer but when I got DT up and reliced she gave a great boost to my SEE and I started to beat some GL teams. Once I got MJ up and running my whole empire team was so much more efficient and in TW with her Omicron I could beat almost anything. KK just changed totally the MM team and Dash even with no zeta or omicron is very useful in all game modes. To summarize I agree that the Palp/Mara/SK team is struggling with all the new DCs but the road to getting SK is very important for any player to start getting a variety of teams that can perform in all game modes.
if they want to buff starkiller it would actually be so easy. Just give him +25% mastery and +25% extra for GAC and then give his Star Destroyer revive immunity
Starkiller and Aphra are in the exact same spot only difference is that SK works under a cere/malicious team otherwise his old team is equal in power to Aphras team
Mastery is bonus stats which are different depending on their role ie tank, attacker. I'm pretty sure it doesn't take effect until you relic a character and the higher the relic the more mastery you get.
@@Dave83138it does actually take effect before relic levels, you can just only get it from character kits or relics, but a lower gear character can still use mastery. What stats it gives is also dependant on the characters primary stat (e.g. TAC), and under character stats you can see exactly which stats is gained from mastery😊

Veers and Starck are reqs so… Them too
At that point might as well relic Range

Great food for thought as always Phil. You made me feel a lot better about my gear 12 troopers.😂.
Yo Phil anyway you could increase the volume of your videos? I listen to you at work and the machines get pretty loud. Awesome channel tho

You also need a relic thrawn early to use him with slkr to get malgus shards
You can do malgus with just the SLKR first order team. It's awful and took me like 2 hours to get the right RNG, but it's possible.

Because of datacrons I stopped farming GLs. Working nicely for me by not having to gear up a ton of garbage

I heavily disagree with SK. He is still very good and beats almost any non GL team and GL rey

Guy must be getting perfect rng to farm a new character not double drops in the same time frame as a cantina node character.😂
1*16 = 2*8
3 months on normal nodes is not equivalent to 1-3 weeks on cantina nodes to 7 star a character.
