I love the Castamere story it’s so chilling
Margaery's mom was a Hightower but she wasn't in the show.
The hightowers are the lords of the citadel, they are known as spies and great conspirators.
Margaery Tyrell's mother is a Hightower.
In the series, this narrative line is not addressed, but there are theories that the entire downfall of the Targaryens has a finger in this family.
Please read the books, you won't regret it.
I second this. Easily some of the best books I’ve ever read.
Also she’ll be pleasantly surprised to if she decides to read them that they are very different from the series in a ton of ways so she won’t be expecting what they bring.

The TV show portrayal of the Golden Company was bad. As was the removal of one of its Targaryen members. In the books there is a lengthy major plotline attached to it.
Hightowers are very important in House of the Dragon (Dance of Dragons) and Ser Criston Cole and King Viserys I. of course! Greetings from Germany❤
I have a theory that Rhaenys survived the fall, and that the Dornish princess who came a-visiting later with a letter for Aegon was her daughter.

Hightowers are an important minor house but not a great house.
They have enough influence with the great houses to get their way sometimes.

ONLY FEW Targafyend are riders and they are even fewer who are dreamers
Yeah in show they nerfed a lot oc thing and did not introduce a lot of houses like
Hightowers ,Brackens and Blackwoods who are always in fight with each other they are aslso Valarions and Celtifars who are also Valyrians that survived doom but they are not dragonriders there is also Coldhand,Fake Aegon who is supposed son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell the biggest mistake they did it was to mix him with Jon ,Euron is joke in show he so scary and badass in books and he is currently in Old Town where Hightowers are he is planing coronate himself like Aegon the Conqurer did.
Lady Stoneheart who is ressurected Catlyn Stark also never show up and waste.Golden Company is badass also ,Tyrells are alive and there are two more brothers that was mossed in books ,There is Arianne Martell overall Dorn is soo goood in books.
There is so much more read the books is so much better like with most adaptations

Not really, actually. The histories & lore are narrated by characters from the show because they tell of what people thought had happened. What the traditional stories had been. House of the Dragon will show what *really* happened. So, no spoilers.

This had spoilers for house of the dragon so I’m shocked nobody told you to skip the end also I don’t know if you heard but before rhaegar died he called out lyanna name which is sad. Plus Robert had Targaryen blood in him from his ancestor aegon bastard brother but also Robert grandmother was a Targaryen which is why he had a claim to the throne..so basically he killed his cousin and tried to kill his other cousins (dany and viserys) for years.

Hightower isn't gone - they just aren't really shown. Jorah's wife was a Hightower and Margery Tyrell's mother was a Hightower
