- EXCLUSIVE: First ANNIHILATOR Alison Hell recording LIVE IN VAL D'OR, Quebec, April 16 1986. This was a live off the board recording of the band (Jeff Waters guitar, John Bates vox, Dave Scott bass, Paul Malek drums) & the first full recording of this legendary song. As you can hear, they are kids! Sloppy, messy and full of mistakes but that is how history is made! Note the lyrics and arrangements changed years later, as Jeff Waters changed them to the version we've all heard on the Alice in Hell record 1989. Get a new metal V guitar from Jeff. My dad jammed, and sang with these guys in the 80s in their garage.
Oh really?? That’s my dad playing the drums in this video! He wrote Alison Hell and many other songs from the first two albums before leaving in 89’. I have old cassette tapes of my dad, Jeff and the rest playing together. I still have the drum set that my dad used too

This is the first time i heard that Jeff missed a fucking note, he evolved so much to perfection. Whole band's line-up changed except Jeff and the quality never changed.
All I have to say is thank you Jeff for making great music and giving me the inspiration to keep striving to become a better guitar player. Hell I adopted a red Flying V because of you. Haha

Curious about old Annihilator days... It is often mentioned that initial line-up was Jeff Waters, John Bates (vocals), Paul Malek (drums) and Dave Scott (bass). In this video there is "The First Annihilator Line-Up" at around 4:30 (wrongly mentioned as 1995, I believe it supposed to be 1985) with names "John, Dave, Jeff, Rob". Can anyone tell me who are Dave and Rob? Also, where guitarist Dave Davies from later periods dissapeared, and whether he is the same person as Dave Scott on bass - founding member - as he is often mentioned as Dave Scott Davies? Thank you for any insight :-)
