- Novi, Michigan is a wonderfully diverse city of Metro Detroit with approximately 24% of its population being of Asian descent, so it’s no surprise that it has some of the best Asian restaurants in the area. Here are my top bucket list picks of where to go when you get that craving!

As a local only living a couple miles North, Novi does have a massive Asian Population, especially Japanese. Nissan is not too far away on 12 mile where my dad worked in the 90’s. He always went to Novi on business lunches and dinners. He introduced me to sushi at the age of 10 and I’ve been in love with it ever since.
Cherry Blossom was a family favorite of ours and my dad knew the owner from his Nissan days. The first place I ever tried sushi. Karaoke Bar, Tatami Rooms, front garden, and massive delicious menu. Unfortunately he retired and closed the business just before New Years 2017 I believe. It was bought by new people and kept some of the staff. However the quality went down with the owners. A very sad end, I’m just happy Mr. Yomadason (Original Owner) is enjoying his retirement golfing. It used to be in between Jo-Ann Fabrics & Bed, Bath, & Beyond. You can see it nestled between the massive stores.
Now that Cherry Blossom is gone, my go-too’s are Hotaru (Prev. Ramenya), Ajishin, and One World Market. Shiro, Kura, and Oishi (Caters for Delta Airlines Japan Flights) I go to once in a while and are really good as well. Good picks, I know all of them except for the first one which I will have to try!
