Haven't been back to Windsor in 30 years, this made me so homesick. I was living in Newfoundland for two years before I could even palate a piece of pizza.....
Used to live in Windsor for 50 years now Ilive in Edmonton Alberta and YUKKY pizza here! No one has good pizza here like Windsor. I never knew butter chickan belonged on pizza til I moved out here YUK! Real pizza is Italian Windsor pizza hands down! Galati used to be Mannina Cheese company. I went to school with the Mannina brothers Tony, Sam, Dante and Tony God Bless them and their Mom. The Mom made the BEST spagetti sauce I ever had Bless you Ms Mannina
Well done. As an ex-Windsorite I love Windsor Pizza. Hands down its unique taste and style are on another level and there's no other place in the world that makes pizza like this. My friends here in Toronto need to watch your vid so they get what I'm talking about. Thanks man.
Awesome work! I have talked to a lot of people saying that our pizza sucks here in Windsor.....😄👍but it's great to hear the truth from such a well done documentary about Windsor pizza.
I'm lucky that Franco's is right around the corner from my house. Francos, Armandos, Capri, Koolini, and Sams are my favourite pizza places here. A Slice of Pi in LaSalle is also very good along with Krusty's on Ottawa Street.
Those places are quite good! Particularly (in my opinion, of course) Sams and Capri...but my hands down favourite is Naples! Never had a bad pie from that joint! I gave up looking for better places - I'm quite satisfied with the Pizzas made by Naples.
I can't wait to try windsor pizza. I live in Edmonton and have lived in Calgary, also other cities out west, pizza sucks. I am originally from Kingston Ontario and we have amazing pizza, haven't looked into if they ship yet, however i see the shipping here already exists and since I'm a pizza lover I'm going to give it a try.
Most owners that have been established form 50 plus years all learned from a place called volcano . Which no longer exists . It is the greatest pizza in canada . My personal favorite has always been armandos the original on walker rd.
One of the things that I miss after moving to the maritimes. I try to make my home-made pizzas using the Windsor style, shredded pepperoni, canned mushrooms. I have not mastered the sauce though.
CANNED MUSHROOMS!!! YES!!! Strangely, I totally prefer canned mushrooms to fresh ones! And when I order from Naples in Windsor, we always get these toppings: Pepperoni, Ham and Mushrooms - sometimes tomatoes too. The best I've ever had!
Let me tell you a story. Pizza is pizza right. Wrong l have eaten pizza all over Chicago toronto etc and Windsor pizza is it’s own beast. I dated a girl in Windsor and she was like this city has the best pizza l was like whatever well hate to admit it but it’s true. Windsor has the best consistent pizza through the city. Miss that place
I moved to an island that is right next to Italy a year ago after living my whole life in Windsor. They basically only make Sicilian pizza here and it's garbage. I miss my Sarducci Pizza so bad. I can't wait to come back in August and eat nothing but pizza for whole week.
Arcata is not so special, pizza isn't pizza when made by anyone other than Italians the only thing they can copy, the only thing they copy well is the name PIZZA..
As a windsorite, looking for videos to show friends not from windsor about our local pizza... this is an amazing video describing it!

i work at UPS, we shipped one from francos to Saskatchewan early AM. picked up at 6:15 delivered by 9:30 am next day.
Really? Was this recently? Its cool to see people love the cities pizza so much they’ll ship across country for it.
@@keighnvitti5383 early 2000s... but not the last time either. I'm sure the other shipping companies have done it as well.
@@keighnvitti5383 My friend who lives in Vancouver does this same thing once a year too. UPS the Pizza out of Windsor all the way to Vancouver.
Didn't occur to me there would be a Canadian pizza style. I've had most of the great pizza styles in their regions. Must go to Windsor.

I grew up in Russell Woods in the 60’s-70’s & 80’s, Torino Pizza in Tecumseh was and will always be my favorite.🍕

Windsor pizza is legit! Best pizza
Amen brother.
Things I miss about living in Windsor: the people, the pizza.. the 90s?
Great little video!

Never heard that once in my 30+ years of living in Windsor
I miss Windsor pizza 😭

Anyone ever have Krusty's Pizza? Sad that it is permanently closed.
It’s back open 😘
@@liambelanger8483 really ?! Same spot ??

And their pizza 🍕 is fire

Pretty impressive work! Keep it up 🙌🏼

Armandos is a bit pricey. Try Naples. The one on Prince Road is like Manna from Heaven! It's absolutely glorious!!!
Nick you’re the best!
Trevi , Torino’s pizza in Tecumseh?
This kid knows what he's talkin about

Never been dissappointed with the pizza here.

Im mad you never mentioned Armandos. that is the best of them all. but they are all better than anywhere else on earth. ive checked
yo this vid blew up good stuff :)
the secret is the galati cheese and pepperoni. way better than saputo
Agreed.
Go ahead Google, pizza capital of Canada, WINDSOR. Fact.
Arcata is not so special, pizza isn't pizza when made by anyone other than Italians the only thing they can copy, the only thing they copy well is the name PIZZA..
Windsor style pizza sucks ass. With their diced mystery meat. The only good pizza worth going to for is only at Caboto club.
