      Hi
      Small note: no shed to shed ever looks RIGHT: LIKE ONE.
      Always look like just what they are: a third tit.
      Drop or rise the roof line. Add or diminish the width.
      Light inside?
      No Amish barn added-too ever "broke the ridge".
      Big "small" will ever remain a delight on the land.

    The third hydraulic is a case drain line, essentially a return line to the tank, it helps with pressure relief on high flow applications. It can also help with a surge from bogging down an implement.

    • @richardmcelligott2881
      @richardmcelligott2881 2 года назад

      Breakers and drill applications normally require a case drain.

    • @SlipFitGarage
      @SlipFitGarage Год назад

      Yep, it's a case drain. Any attachment that has a hydraulic motor (spinning shaft) will have a small amount of internal leakage. The case drain allows that oil to return to the tank instead of building case pressure on the back side of the shaft seal. If your attachment only has hydraulic cylinders, it won't have that third case drain line. It's not 100% necessary to run that third line but if you're attachment has it, it's a good idea to use it. It prevents premature hydraulic motor wear.

    The move your making is smart honestly, When we bought out property here in Colorado, it was untouched wooded land and just to clear enough space for a shop to be built and future home was nearly twice the price of buying the equipment myself. I purchased a Skid steer and had the dealership teach me the basics and went from there. Not only did it save me money on clearing my own property, it paid for itself since then, because as i was clearing the land and poured my shop slab, many of the neighbors took interest in it and asked me how much much i would charge them to do so and so.. and just a few weekend jobs later and i earned back what i paid for the equipment. I use ours as a mower and all, found it far faster than the tractor i initially tried to use.

    I’m a hydraulics tech in the air-force, you can have a hydraulic line that’s capped or plugged, as long as there’s no internal bypass or a failing check valve it shouldn’t make a difference. I’d speculate that third line is for attachments that have a high pressure low volume, and low pressure high volume lines, maybe not but that’d be my guess, on the aircraft that’s usually the reason for capped line, other than to bypass said line.

    • @scz71man
      @scz71man 2 года назад

      The 3rd line is what ive always called the case drain. If youre running a attachment with say a hydraulic motor then its used to drain pressurized hydraulic fluid that leaks into the pump casing so that it doesnt blow out the seals. So, its basically a hydraulic fluid vent that goes back to the hydraulic fluid tank.
      Working on equipment ive seen people try to hook up a single acting hydraulic cylinder to the line which of course wont work.
      Ive also seen people put a attachment that has a case drain line on a piece of equipment that doesnt have the 3rd line so they just remove the line and cap it off. Then they wonder why the pump on it keeps blowing out seals.

    Wranglerstar!!! Over using and running a skid steer I have learned one very important thing about skid steers/track loaders. Alway leave a bucket or Implement on it. Let’s say your going from A to B if you end up getting in the dirt you can sink or get stuck. If you don’t have a “bucket” on it’s a monster to get free.

    To me it was amazing to see how fast those tacks tensioned up with just a few pumps of a grease gun. I had never actually seen that done before. Very interesting!

    Food for thought, maybe throw down some in floor tubing even if the lines stay empty before you pour concrete. If down the road you wanted to fill the lines you'd be able to get some in floor heat up and running fairly easy. Once that pad is poured it won't be cheap or easy to add any heat tubing or floor drainage.

    Cody, two things you are gonna want to get from Skid Pro are a telescoping boom pole and a fence post/tree puller. You can easily pull 8" diameter trees right out of the ground with the roots intact when you want to clear some land.

    My grandparents used old handme downs for rags as well, but only after they didn't fit anyone else or if they were too wore out lol.

    I would recommend putting a 2 post lift in your new shop. It will really come in handy for maintenance.

    And while you're at it, make up one set that converts the new hi-flow ends back to the "farm-style" Pioneer ends. That way you'll keep the wider adaptability on the tractor hoses.

    A few years ago my little hoop shed went down in a snowstorm. I needed a place to park my skidsteer so I built a 120' x 50' shop to keep the snow off it. Crazy thing is I just about don't have enough room to get it in anymore! Always built bigger than what you think you need. Don't make my mistake.

    A pro homeowner such as your self might consider a solar powered driveway alarm that would alert you when anyone pulls into your property. I wonder if Simply Safe makes one? Nice to have as much warning as possible. You did mention wanting to expand the shop when you moved there That will be so nice to have everything indoors. Give our best to the family please. Be safe and God bless.

    Great video Cody. I think you hit the nail on the head, if you have the equipment and the skills to do work your self then do it! Yes buying the digger and the skid steer is expensive but do this one job and they have paid for themselves. All the very best to you and your family. Andy UK
