Praised for her vocal beauty, seamless technique, and abundant musicality, Nadine Sierra is being hailed as one of the most promising, young talents in opera today. She was named the Richard Tucker Award Winner in 2017 and was awarded the 2018 Beverly Sills Artist Award by the Metropolitan Opera. Having made a string of successful debuts at the Met, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, and Staatsoper Berlin, she has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. On August 24th, 2018, her debut album, There’s a Place for Us, was released under the Deutsche Grammophon/Universal Music labels.
The new Lucia at the MET was a cultural crime. The new Traviata so nice on paper but on the execution so cartoonish and fake. As if the production took place in the 1940's. Violetta and Lucia are more or less in the same age. The "real" Violetta perhaps died younger than Lucia. Certainly Lucia is much more opressed by her environment (brother), but vocally come on ..... Lucia is much more difficult role. Violetta has virtually only one difficult aria to sing in act one (Sempre Libera), everything later is about expression and finding the true colours and dynamics.
Ioannus Maroudass: So I guess you didn’t care for the new LUCIA and TRAVIATA productions. Well, like Michigan weather, if you don’t like it, it will change.
What is your point exactly ???? By the way I am neither an ancient Roman (>>>> Ioannus) neither my family name Maroud-ass.....................................🤢🤢🤢
Two gorgeous divas. Two outstanding ladies. Love them both for what they have accomplished and contributed to the world of opera.

@@johnpickford4222 at least, they are not set on a train, on a ship, on the Planet of Apes, on the Moon...
I was hoping she was going to enlighten us as to why she's _appropriating_ white culture but alas...
Excuse me?
