    This was beautifully done, and a treat for the eyes. I loved it! They often leave building sets to decay because it is cheaper than transporting and trying to store them. The two prop buildings had to be up to code because people worked in them all day. The two prop buildings were great, the first was where props were organized by scene, and brought out as needed. The bigger one was the prop shop, where they would repair broken props, and make new ones they hadn’t made in advance. I love things like this, but man they left a lot of props behind. The thing you were thinking might have been a guillotine was a set of stocks, locked the head and hands in place so people could pelt you with rotting vegetables and dung...not much fun.Thanks Robb, you and Kristy stay safe.🖤🇨🇦

      The Salty Explorer you would have to put in a lot of effort to safeguard it to last, but it really would be cool...put on proper robes and walls, insulate, and gradually finish the insides... there are people who would rent, or you could fill it with your ideal set of artisans, it would be awesome.🖤🇨🇦

    Another great location! The poor lighting worked well because it made it a little darker and it fit the witch theme very well. I think the real Salem witch trials were in the 1600s, but I'm not 100% sure. The room with all the old style lights was great too.

    This is one of your best videos yet! Excellent work interlacing scenes from the show into your video. The drone shots in the clouds were superb! The brass lantern at 13:00 is a kerosene ship's anchor lantern. The reason it looked out of place is because it was. These were used in the 1900's, not in 1692 when the witch trials took place. If this was used on the show, it was indeed a technical error. But most movies and TV shows have those! Great video, very well done and presented! Enjoyed it very much!

    So ERIE, rolling fog and low clouds in those drone shots must have made it even harder to get them. All of the props were to be auctioned 3/17/17, there must have been some items that didn't get bid on or were left behind, very interesting. The façades are so detailed I felt transported to that place in time, you did an awesome job on this explore, so fascinating. Did you have to cross over the water to get to the place where you filmed? Agree very dangerous and sketchy. AWESOME RnK thanks for this one for sure!!! 🗿🗿🗿

    interesting explore, great job adding actual scenes mixed in. Shame they didnt bother to clean up after they were done, basically probably didnt want to pay for demo. Surprised alot of props left, someone could sell them, theres got to be collectors out there if not from the show, people who want items like that for decor. Thanks for taking us along.

      Peaches they robably stipulated in the contract for land use that the landholder carries responsibility for removal of the hard set. There was an auction of props in , I think it was 1917, but it appears some props were abandoned. Those too would belong to the landholder...maybe he rents to larpers or period recreation groups for events., or some such groups to make a bit of dosh before it’s too far gone to last.🖤🇨🇦

    • @MoniqueFromPlymouth
      @MoniqueFromPlymouth 4 года назад

      @@tamarrajames3590 | "they probably stipulated in the contract for land use that the landholder carries responsibility for removal of the hard set..." We do not know what the contract agreement really was. Normally, it is the production company's responsibility to demolish the sets and restore the land to its original condition. Its more likely the owner wanted to keep the sets for use for events, but it fell through. (If thats true, I would guess the state inspectors rejected the owner's request to make it a tourist stop because the sets were not made to last: remember they were made for film and stage, not true houses or buildings.)

    This is my favorite explore that you've done! I watched Exploring with Josh's video also, which was good too, but I love the way you added clips of the show between showing us the buildings. I loved this series and may have to go back and watch it again. I grew up near Sale, Massachusetts and wrote a few history papers on Salem and the 1692 witch trials. The series was based on that but was far from the truth. The actual witchcraft accusations came about because of 1. economic and social differences between the people of Salem Town and Salem Village and 2. a bunch of young girls and women who found they could get attention and a sense of importance by accusing people of witchcraft in an era when women had no say in anything. But enough of a history lesson! Go visit the real Salem, MA if you ever get the chance. Many of the original buildings are still standing.

      Pumpkin 1122 I haven’t seen the show, but I might have to. They drop a LOT of good shows, like The Doll House, and Firefly. Often it isn’t how good or bad a series is, but what their ratings were. Leave things up to the critics and the lowest common denominator and you end up with “reality” TV everywhere...show anything requiring a few brain cells from its viewers and you know it will get dropped.🖤🇨🇦

    • @tamarrajames3590
      @tamarrajames3590 4 года назад +2

      autumn cortez It is cheaper for them to leave the sets to rot...they don’t have to pay a demo crew, no loading, shipping, and unloading...let alone find somewhere to store it. They do this quite a lot on period pieces.
      A team of archaeology students once set out to see if they could locate and excavate the sets for Cleopatra, starring Liz Taylor...using archaeological techniques. It got buried in the sand of the desert in Nevada I think it was...I never heard if they managed to do it, but what a cool project.🖤🇨🇦
