    A lot of this is so fake..just propogating commercial ingredients like Perlite, cocopeat etc. No real localised knowledge being given. I am really disappointed. Succulents can grow beautifully in normal soil with good drainage & nutrition put in ..I have done it successfully in India. You don't any of these commercial ingredients.

    My friend give me peat moss soil mix (not sure with that mix but on pack written Material:
    Coarse peat moss texture.
    Peat moss is the dark brown fibrous product of sphagnum moss and commonly used for potting mix media).
    It’s not drainage well and my succulents die 😢 so they said i need to mix with perlite/ pumice/ vermiculite. Still confuse.
    Oh i have akadama at home

    Well don't follow their soil mixture for cactus and succulent , you can only use sandy soil that is upper layer soil of agriculture field, I have tried all type of mixture and waste money but best soil for cactus is sandy soil.

      Hmm you can use coarse red brick powder or even coarse sand or chips or Even gravel. Idea is to make well draining soil.

      Succulents are different than normal plants. Once a week is my schedule for succulents and even if it’s more watering like in rain, they still don’t rot because my soil is very well draining - ruclips.net/video/kkN4j0lSTW0/видео.html

    I was wondering if it is better to add Coco peat or perlite to clay soil in the garden?

    • @GardenTips
      @GardenTips  6 лет назад

      More recent video on this topic ruclips.net/video/kkN4j0lSTW0/видео.html
      Adding cocopeat is great but perlite to clay soil will crush the perlite and of non much use.

      Not recommended. Cocopeat has water retention ability. Though it makes a well draining soil, it holds moisture.
