Thank you Mr. Wheeler! Very helpful as a senior nursing student. I am hoping to go back to school for ASL. I would stop by to say hi sometime if you didn't leave so early!
Mr. Wheeler, these videos you make are absolutely wonderful! I learned ASL 1 in high school "9th grade, and I'm going to continue" I'm out for summer now. But, I just wanted to say that your videos are great and help me learn a lot more about asl! ASL really interests me. Question, are you able to talk, or do you just sign more often?
Thank you for FINALLY placing captions for those of us who are trying to learn. Very helpful. Again, thanks and hope you continue to realize that most here who utilize your videos are in various stages of learning ASL.
I would love to speak with the instructor in these videos. Very beneficial to my job. Very clear. If you are able to provide an e-mail address that I could reach out to you that would be great. Thank you so much!
I appreciate your video. I can clearly see your hands and face. I think it would be better to see your body by adding some color contrast between shirt and background.
=o so cool, thank you! Might I ask: how would one sign: "Stop breathing" or "hold your breath" "relax" "don't move" "deep breath in" "deep breath out"? I ask because I'm currently studying to be an x-ray technologist and for some procedures we need to give breathing instructions to our patients and it's just occurred to me, what if we have a patient who's hard of hearing? I would hope they have a translator but what if it happens that they don't? Or if it's someone who normally has a hearing aid but they have to take it out for the exam? If anyone knows of a video that has these signs and can point me towards them, thank you in advance!!!
Lovely video. I have a question though. The hospital and patient signs are done on the side of the chest, front of the arm or side of the arm? I can't tell exactly with the black shirt on black background. Thank you. Also, is panic the same sign as anxiety?
Always use the same hand for everything if you're left dominant and primarily use your left then continue using the left. For these signs just flip them.
Not a good idea to wear black polo with red tie in a black background. Hehe actually it for us to see the hands clearly. But very educational video..thank you
Completely out of respect but you look like a floating head and a tie for the majority of this video. It is very hard to tell where on your body you are signing when you're not signing on your face
Karen Cleveland I know, it's a hole body experience but the main thing to know is the hand signs, and this is a very basic lesson so for beginners it's a good way to start first with the hands and the expressions if that makes sense.
Thank you so much for making this available to all. I found it very clear and helpful. I can tell you are one of the very best teachers!
Yes. His videos are to the point. In this video, his hands are easy to follow.
Thank you Mr. Wheeler! Very helpful as a senior nursing student. I am hoping to go back to school for ASL. I would stop by to say hi sometime if you didn't leave so early!

This is the funniest comment I’ve read in a while!🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much for making this videos. I am so excited to proficient myself
I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I am learning ASL by myself and this is one of the resources I was looking for. Thank you for sharing!! 🙌
Typically when I’m sick it’s because of a throat infection and I can’t talk, so I’ll typically sign small words to my family since we’re not fluent
Thank you so much for this video! I think
that the sign for "allergic" is funny. Be safe!

Very helpful in my journey to learn ASL. Thank you!!
Thank you very much now so the sooner they didn’t do well very great and great work
Im really interested is there any sign language for more complex diseases, like e.g. tuberculosis, lyme's, tumours on various body parts?
Yup!
You can try took it up on an ASL library like Hand Speak or Sign Savy but keep in mind that some signs can vary based on location.
Thank you for this
Thank you

I’m sure you meant well but damn that came off as passive aggressive 😂
Yeah, imagine having to deal with that on a daily basis? 🤷🏾♀️
Is there a sign for chronic??
I would love to speak with the instructor in these videos. Very beneficial to my job. Very clear. If you are able to provide an e-mail address that I could reach out to you that would be great. Thank you so much!
Go to ASLThat on Facebook. Maybe can contact him there
This was for my Health Science class. Was forced to pick 15 and do them in front of the class.. 😭
Wow I love that pharmacy is medicine store

Might I ask: how would one sign:
"Stop breathing" or "hold your breath"
"relax"
"don't move"
"deep breath in"
"deep breath out"?

It's best to find someone in your community/area who is is either an interpreter or who is Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
Lovely video. I have a question though. The hospital and patient signs are done on the side of the chest, front of the arm or side of the arm? I can't tell exactly with the black shirt on black background. Thank you. Also, is panic the same sign as anxiety?
It's done on the arm.
I’m left handed and generally use my left hand for everything, does it matter if you use your right hand?
Always use the same hand for everything if you're left dominant and primarily use your left then continue using the left. For these signs just flip them.
I've learned that the hand in motion is always the dominant hand.
❤❤❤
So is it safe to assume that ASL for help and treatment are similar, if not the same?
Yes, it’s all about context
You forgot stroke
🌅
Очень интересная тема
Love
Don't understand you about (panic)?

But very educational video..thank you
I think my tummy pulled and is pulled by me in my sleep and it hurt a lot! Help!
Breathe and asthma look the same
It has to do with the facial expression (sometimes referred to as mouthing or non-manual markers) and the context of the sentence/situation.
Ess😅😁😅🥺🧐
Use your cell phone
:)
I couldnt hear shit i dont think the sound works on this video
Lol just finding this comment 2 years later. It’s asl so it doesn’t need sound.
Sound is not needed for signing videos 😂😅
Completely out of respect but you look like a floating head and a tie for the majority of this video. It is very hard to tell where on your body you are signing when you're not signing on your face
Why did you choose a black background and black shirt...re-do and re-post for others to glean.
Karen Cleveland that's the idea, so you can concentrate on the hands and the face only
ASL is not a "hands" and "face" only language.
Karen Cleveland I know, it's a hole body experience but the main thing to know is the hand signs, and this is a very basic lesson so for beginners it's a good way to start first with the hands and the expressions if that makes sense.
This man is a professional teacher, he knows what he is doing. I think it’s rude to tell him to re-do and re-post. “For others to glean?”
I too am an expert. He posted this for us to watch. Feedback is not always a bad thing.
Thank you
