Yes, it was! I'm not sure why Kelly's American Idol reprise performance was used instead of her group round, though. She sang multiple G5s in the performance that wasn't in this video. But at least this video included Kelly's newer G5 in the Ariana portion. 😊

In that performance Aretha actually gave us some resonant A5s in the end ! But as far as the "main high note" Aretha's was so free and effortless. So we gonna go with the queen of soul herself! But I think Amber's ATE! I think she's the only one who sings the R E S P E C T breakdown flawlessly and then that G#5 was just n a s t y. In a good way Chile!

I love Ari (she's my favorite singer and she killed it) But Amber Riley was IMPECCABLE on the new version (Which I think should be in this video instead of the old one), her version its just PERFECT. She held up the note very well

some disgusting singer hit/sustain the climax with sharp or being too sharp 🙄. unlike aretha which sound resonant, round, and effortless.
They are all awful grotesque noises. None of them get anywhere near to Aretha's perfection of delivery and sound.

Idk everyone I thought everybody did very well here. If anything Amber was the roughest but that might be just a stylistic choice. But in no way are these attempts "awful" or "grotesque."

Ariana’s voice doesn’t fit the song. Her tone, her energy, diction, and phrasing all completely missed.
