Although I understand it's not possible to verify the reliability of sources if you're mapping the events the day after they take place and that you have to weigh up yourself the likelihood of a certain event being the case. Personally though, I'd question Russia's ability to take these cities that quickly.
When you read Aljazeera which is strictly Western propaganda, there it is said that Russia has taken 70% of Luhansk Peaoples' Republic. If they have such there, then I can emphatically say that the map is pretty reliable.

Kharkov was not occupied. Only part of the area to the east of the city was occupied, but no more. And Sumy and Chernihiv fell into the cauldron, but did not give up and survived.

The Russians have conquered 33,465 square miles of terrain in 6 days. That represents .024 square miles per soldier day. That is 1.43 times faster than the Israel advance during the Six Day War, 10x times faster than the US advance during the Gulf War, and 1.85 times faster than the US advance in 2003. So any suggestion that the Russians are moving slow is revealed as absolute nonsense
The Six Day war main land conquered was in the Sinai Peninsula which is largely inhabitated and with both armies acting as classic war formations. Totally different from the Ukraine war where it seems that the Ukrainian army does not act in the open in large battle groups (from obvious reasons) and the Russians on their behalf clearly not acting in 100% full battle drill (like rolling screen of fire ahead of advancing forces) for reasons which probably combine reluctance to cause massive damage and death and possibly also because they prefer to hit the Ukrainian army but avoid it's collapse or a massive encirclement. While they are definitely facing huge difficulties they did not predict, I won't be surprised if their initial plan was to get to a point where the Ukrainians would agree for a painful arrangement coming from a position of 'least of the worst'. Just an assumption. Anyway. While they are clearly facing many logistical problems, and with Ukrainian army surprisingly prepared for acting in small battle groups that are very effective, it is quite clear that goal was never a full scale destruction of cities, infrastructure and endless killing of humans. The killing toll is horrible but judging by the amount of power the Russians brought it could have easily been bigger.

The map is unrealistic. Kharkov, Chernigov, Sumy were not occupied. Luhansk region was occupied in the summer, not in the spring.

They did a surprise attack on a neighbour country with massive border, the results you "proved" are actually incredibly small.

Russians and Ukrainians are very similar culturally and genetically, and both are offshoots of the Kiev Rus. America and Iraq are very different culturally and linguistically. Iraq is a Muslim country, so they have a religious imperative to resist being conquered by unbelievers. Also, Islam teaches that if you die killing infidels your place in paradise is assured (or something to that effect). America had no religious or cultural imperative to be in Iraq, other than soldiers getting paid to do their job and follow orders. Most of America's wars don't make sense, and they don't profit either America or the country being invaded.

@@jenojenny5280 Turks are Muslim but their language is more closely related to Mongolian than Arabic. I think the difference between Arabic speaking countries is probably arbitrary, and based more on who is controlling them rather than actual significant cultural differences. Saddam Hussein already tried to add more territory to your country, and the US government stopped him. If not for that, then you probably would have been able to absorb Kuwait. The US occupation was doomed from the beginning because Muslims have a religious imperative to resist unbelievers. For the record, I disagree with most of what my government does in the Middle East. We have our own oil here, and should not be meddling there. If I were setting US policy, I would have let Saddam Hussein do what he wants. I think if you do fight with your neighbors then it's not up to me to pick one side or the other. There's two sides to every story.

Не ну руководство России конечно поражает, вот они поняли что наступления застопорилось. Чаша весов на равне, и нужно что-то делать. Вместо того чтоб уйти в оборону, провести мобилизацию ещё тогда, и к лету перейти в полномасштабное наставления. Вместо этого отпустили везде, мобилизацию провели хрен пойми когда, и пошли на позорные переговоры.
