Using gripping rotoscoping techniques the latest film sees Red Bull’s young gun demonstrate unique tricks including world-firsts in freestyle mountain biking: Bum Slide, 270 Rim Bonk, Hitching Post Flip to Feet, Decade Tsunami and Superman Backflip to tuck no-hander. Within the film, an advanced editing technique ‘rotoscoping’ was used by Cut Media to enable the audience to see what's going through Matt’s head as he prepared for seemingly impossible tricks. This required an intricate process, cutting out countless sequential frames, in order to create the floating ‘traces’ seen in the final production.

Holy shit that was epic! At first I was honestly more mind blown by the editing than the riding, but everything stepped up so quickly, the backflip onto the log is one of the most creative and insane tricks I have ever seen! It's stuff like that you remember from videos, stuff that you have never seen before!

Yeah in the linked training shots with the mats to land on, the slides looked pretty sick when he managed to keep the torso upright. Sometimes he even nailed the landing as well. But I guess without the mats it's hard to do it with the same confidence becauase you don't want to injure yourself too badly.
Probably with some more practising and perfecting of this trick and memorizing each movement exactly, this could look really dope. Maybe it's even possible to smoothly glide onto the table as well.

I like how he says, " if it's even possible". This kind of riding ability his proof that more and more everyday anything is possible more so than we ever would have guessed 15 or 20 years ago and it just keeps going. This kind of progression whether it's riding bikes, skateboarding, dirt bikes or whatever, just keeps being pushed more and more to whatever our abilities are capable of doing, so I guess we are only limited to our imaginations. I can't even imagine the kinds of things that people may be doing in another 15 or 20 years from now! Truly amazing!!

I just started watching MTB clips this summer as I started to ride. I found some of Matt's playground videos, and he very quickly became one of, if not my favorite to watch.
This edit was amazing, the real time tricks matching up with the ghosts, music was great, and Matt is a Beast with some amazing tricks in his bag.
