After I learned about the Galaxy ring in early July, I spent hours researching other health tracking rings and watches, which is how I discovered your channel. I appreciate how you scientifically and objectively validate your conclusions. I am 73 and more interested in health than fitness tracking. I was also leaning toward purchasing a ring because wearing a watch to bed didn’t appeal to me. I ended up buying the Pixel 2 watch based on your videos and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, especially after watching this preliminary review of the Galaxy ring. I’ve rewarded your efforts, Rob, by becoming a subscriber. Thank you!

Garmin I disagree, yes sleep tracking seems to be not developing, but they add a bunch of other things, where a great example would be Venu 3 or Vivoactive 5, which work and are accurate, and Samsung is in almost every segment. And there is also the Coros brand, Fitbit will start moving after Google bought it, Apple doesn't have much to improve except battery life, because their watches are accurate.

Samsung under the new CEO is just cost cutting. Like with new generations a device should become better.
Look at 3:26, the Galaxy watch 5 is up there at 97% accuracy. The watch 6 fell to 94%. Now at the watch 7, 77% accuracy that's ridiculously low.
While the Huawei GT4 is high up with Apple watches, and it's cheaper than the Samsung and has longer battery life.
They do the same on phones, the S24 ultra got a 5X lens instead of the S23 ultra 10X as a result it's slightly worse. Cust cutting everywhere people should boycott this brand that became worse than Apple

I have been wearing both an Apple watch 9 and a Galaxy ring to bed every night for almost 3 months now. Theyre eerily close in their calculations. The key with the ring is to wear it on your index finger where the sensors make a good consistant contact with the bottom of the finger.

I love your content - always terrific quality of research and detail in your reviews. It seems like the Oura 3 is always in your top tier of smart rings…but do you have any plans to test or review the Ultrahuman Air? It seems compelling and doesn’t require a subscription model!

Really interesting stuff, as usual! I don't think most people need these hyperaccurate results and are looking more at trends... though I could be wrong. But, hopefully, all these devices will get better as they evolve.

You should review ringconn ring 2 and ultrahuman air. Ringconn states that their ring is detecting sleep apnoia around 90-99% which is quite impressive

is one of ur tests trying to pair and use BOTH the galaxy ring ultra and the galaxy watch ultra together?
Because the main draw of the ring is to pair with the watch to save on battery. The main thing to test for, this the accuracy improve when using both the ring and watch together?

    •  5 месяцев назад

How would the watch data improve when you add totally useless data from the ring?? It can't get better but it could get worse.

Excellent analysis, I like to see the videos of each product and thus know how it performs in health monitoring, with Samsung products I have always heard that it is better to wait months when it is better optimized and has improved its performance and software fixes, thanks to Rob for his analysis and conclusions on the Samsung Galaxy Ring, greetings and always LIKE

I want to sincerely thank you Rob for all the hardwork you've put in to "Quantify" (puns intended) all the fitness metrics for tons of smart wearables over the last several years. It's easy for a company to market their product as superior/accurate, but it takes awesome, dedicated people like you to actually subject their claims to real world test.
