I remember watching the og evil dead for the first time and thinking it was weird that the guy survived and it’s one of the few sequels to continue the story and further push it on which like Freddy which had very loosely connected movies or Jason which almost had zero connections evil dead only got better in the sequels to me at least and that’s why it’s always jumping to my number one spot!!

Truth is, Ash being the savior in the book is all through mishap incidents as well. He gets hurled through time after not knowing how to close the vortex. He ends up a prisoner in medieval times. Miss quotes the phrase to take the book, raising the dead. Ash constantly stumbles from one mishap to the next, like his whole destiny is just dumb luck.
I mean, he’s only really in the book because of his own actions. He awakens the spirits with the book, plots to open a portal that sends him back in time, and is then thusly written into the book as the savior of the medieval ages purely because he wound up having to clean up his own mess back then. At least, this was the idea back when the movies were made. So, when you consider that literally every conflict in the series is his fault, I’d say a lot of what falls in his favor really is just dumb luck.
