Don’t worry if you lost signal man, it will return to home automatically. My drone is 4gens older than urs, but it still can do it. There is also a return to home button on the controller if you still have connection.
Recreational drone users do not have to register their drones due to a court decision as of the same month you published this video. Keep an ear out because that could change again.
This Town, Country needs an enema! And you need to keep up cause your info is outdated. New National Security law that Trump just signed in.gave that authority back to the FFA permanently. Courts say clearly that ignorance of the law is no excuse. Duh
Your information is outdated. And, it doesn't matter wether you've registered that drine or not, it's software and firmware are programed to uplink to local authorities and report in every time you power up and it will not arm until until it has authorization. There is no way you can over ride it's program and arm it to fly if it determines you are in an NFZ or the FAA denies flight statis. Besudes the fact that this information is available to people who can read, I'm a licenced pilot and aware of this. I fly real airplanes.
Dandahermit Seals - Bad information. If you use a third party control app - such as Litchi - the possibility of data covertly being sent back to China or elsewhere is eliminated. Your phone is the gateway between the drone and the internet. You control the app that runs on it. If you are paranoid about the DJI Go 4 app, simply don't install it. It crashes and disconnects all the time on Android anyway, so I see now reason to use it.
Registration costs five dollars. The part 107 license to fly commercially [to make money] costs around 150 dollars. That is the requirement , not that the registration goes up if you fly commercially. Many people register their drone and then get their part 107 FAA license after.
Yo REtipster thank you very much for tips. How much heat can a drone take? In other words, if you live in Las Vegas or Arizona where temps get up over 110 degrees and if you have to leave it your car where internal car temps zoom up to near 190 degrees inside the car. Will it damage a drone?
Good question, I'm not sure. I'm in an area where the heat rarely gets up that high (usually we're more concerned about cold weather), so I can't speak to that issue... but it also probably depends on which drone you're using. For what it's worth, I've never heard of a drone overheating. Of course, that doesn't mean it can't, but I would imagine they're designed to take a fair amount of abuse.
Do i need a license to fly my fpv racing drone (i got glasses and see what this machine sees, i also freestyle where there is no one and never go above 400f)
Steeler Nation. Actually, yes. They have total access and can redirect, hijack or ground that drone at their will and it reports it's registration, location, flight plan, and owner information just like the transponder on every N numbered airplane in the US and most if the world. Stupid is dangerous. You're ate up with it.
Hey man thats some great advice, I don't think enough people focus much on the safety aspect of flying drones, you did a great job, I might link your video on my channel if thats ok?
I am from Muskegon, not even 15 min from grand haven, I have been looking into making my own drone, frame and everything. there I a ton of stuff to learn about all this.
Yes and no. Most of the same brands and model names are around, but they've come a long way in terms of camera quality and features. There is definitely room to improve them further though. It'll be fun to see where the technology goes.
Yeah, the mavic mini looks like a great combination in a small package. Funny, we used to think the Mavic Pro was super-small, now it seems big by comparison.
If you monetize you RUclips video and you are operating your drone you need the commercial registration. Or just don't use drone tags in your description lol. But the FAA does check RUclips and will mail you a letter then possibly show up at your home. Good luck
moondawg987 you will need a faa part 107 remote pilots license. It is a book test that you take at an faa approved testing facility. All the rules for commercial flying are also in effect for recreational flyers. They just word it so that you have to follow a club rules....which are exactly the same as commercial rules...doh!
Most drones systems will notify you if you're flying in a zone that's considered "near" an airport... that's also why it's important to stay below 400 feet (which, again, many drones will force you to do anyway).
Wait this is a lot what if your kid just wants a drone that has a nice camera and video.Well I still have to pay registration bc she will only be playing with the drone. And I'm looking for a good begginer drone with those features and flying well.I just dont wont to go to jail bc my daughter got a drone for Christmas.
Actually, it's $5 per drone to register a drone for commercial purposes. For recreation it's just $5 and the registration number can be applied to all your drones.
You're sending people to a scammy company to register. Send them directly to FAA.gov so they can register directly and won't have to pay spammy and crappy fake fees and such.
Seth, you almost understand You're right that the technology is military grade. DJIs largest market is the DOD and they just spread them around the general public so you don't how they've been able to dominate and monopolize the industry. That's one of the slickest spy systems in the world. Every time you power up they log in with local law agencies n governing bodies. At the end of your flying sesions a full report of all flight activities routes and video is uplinked. The DOD bought thousands of them for deployment into the field. They discoverd that everyone of them were making full reports to the Chinese dept of defence. All u numb nuts seem to overlook the fact that China is a communist country that moniters all communications and activities of all it's subjects 24/7 and does the same everywhere else. They moniter all our conversations with an autonimous AI system called Trust Pilot. I've been contacted by them several times for.exposing my getting ripped off for 3 drones I ordered through PayPal and.never got. The Auto-bot contacted me and stated clearly that it had reviewed my claims and rulled them invalid. ( records are still in my PapPal account) and announced that my review and comments had been removed fron the internet. The Chinese gov owns everything and every one and all the factories and products and revenue. They own DJI and sell to our military and civillian agencies. They can redirect, hack, hijack ( fly aways??) or shut down any DJI bird any time. Built in firm ware denies arming for flight till it authorises it every you get ready to fly. You don't own them. The Chinese gov owns them. They just charge you a butt load of money to deploy them all over the world. Cheapest spy system ever devised since the internet that the CIA set up. 😴😴😴😴😴
Sadly, you are most likely correct. I want a mavic pro but will most likely buy an Autel Evo because i think it will be less intrusive with ZERO geo fencing
I bought a $2,000. drone and flew into a commercial airliner! The plane went down into the ocean killing all the passengers. Now I don't have my drone!!!!! 😭😭😭
Thats how youtube works, check out Jeremy Judkins channel, he buys Mavic's and Inspires but does no research or even bothers to read the instructions and wonders why he crashes, even gives out wrong information to people asking him questions in the comments.
Yes, the information age favors intelligent skeptics. Personally, I would like to buy a DJI, but I would not even consider buying a DJI or Yuneec (both headquartered in communist China) because of their NO-FLY ZONES. I guess the communist Chinese believe ordinary people should live in high-rise packs of cubicles with no property. No-fly zones prohibit most Americans from flying in their own backyards just because they happen to live in a city with airports in the area. Nope, not going to mess with NO-FLY ZONES. Does not matter how good their drones might be.
if you did this today you would have broken lots of laws and would face unlimited fines and a term in jail. the advice you should be giving is don't buy a drone as its not worth it now as laws have crippled your enjoyment. you can't fly near or over jack shit.
Nope, not any more. Your video is slightly out of date. As far as killing birds and hurting animals COME ON! Also, use your head. Flying over lake Michigan or over large bodys of water is asking for it. We have no internet connections over lake Michigan in our area. Why? Because there are no phone towers along the lake shores, anywhere. I think most people know the rules or should but the FAA registration was overturned. Each state or community will now decide what their laws are. This will be bad for many drone operators. That being said,I wouldnt bother buying one, they are terrible. You cant fly them in wind. They crash for any reason, and most people hate them. Not to mention they are expensive as hell. Trust me,most people wont want them. Now an RC Plane, thats the ticket! That or a helicopter! Bah! Drones...anyone can fly those...Ha,got you.......Still ,I have a couple drones, dont really care for them,no thrill factor for me.
Don’t worry if you lost signal man, it will return to home automatically. My drone is 4gens older than urs, but it still can do it. There is also a return to home button on the controller if you still have connection.
Super helpful intro for newbies...thank you, sir!

Dandahermit Seals correct! As of 2018 all drones must be registered...
Your information is outdated. It crashes and disconnects all the time on Android anyway, so I see now reason to use it.
drone = computer = hacked or hackable.... thus...only the smart truly own, control and decide on the fate of or monitoring of there drone...js

Most drones have return to home now
Ok?
Good information. Nice drone video in first part of it. If you turn off the controller, it returns to where it was turned on.
Yo REtipster thank you very much for tips. How much heat can a drone take? In other words, if you live in Las Vegas or Arizona where temps get up over 110 degrees and if you have to leave it your car where internal car temps zoom up to near 190 degrees inside the car. Will it damage a drone?

@2:08 will they let me fly around my new home in Alcatraz??
Do i need a license to fly my fpv racing drone (i got glasses and see what this machine sees, i also freestyle where there is no one and never go above 400f)
I'm not sure, it probably depends on the drone you're using and where you're flying it.
whats the faa going to do pull my drone over in the air?
Steeler Nation. Actually, yes. They have total access and can redirect, hijack or ground that drone at their will and it reports it's registration, location, flight plan, and owner information just like the transponder on every N numbered airplane in the US and most if the world. Very informative. Thank you.
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching.
can i use a drone to return packages to Amazon?
I've never tried it, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. :)
Great video, thanks heaps!
Thanks for watching!
Can I know the background music on the first 45seconds od this video? Thanks!
Hey, Joel! Sure thing. You can find it here: www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/moment-of-change
More like 5 things you should DO AFTER buying a drone. Where's the before?
True
"Have a backup battery". That kind of advice...
The first time I got a drone I actually couldn't find any videos about it so I felt obligated to make a video!
Good advice mate, thank you for sharing, cheers.
Great video.
Regarding the lake incident... no Return To Home ? That is exactly for times like this
yes boi you were true, i am watching it in 2020
Hey man thats some great advice, I don't think enough people focus much on the safety aspect of flying drones, you did a great job, I might link your video on my channel if thats ok?
This was such a helpful video! Thanks for sharing
Also are drones OK to bring on international/ domestic travels?
That would depend on which country you're going to.
big help man!!.thanks
I would like to buy and fly a drone rn
Do your best to discourage the competition.
was that Grand Haven? I am from Michigan not far from there
I am from Muskegon, not even 15 min from grand haven, I have been looking into making my own drone, frame and everything. there I a ton of stuff to learn about all this.
I as well hail from Michigan.. 😊
its 2022 and we still have almost same drones
Yes and no. Most of the same brands and model names are around, but they've come a long way in terms of camera quality and features. There is definitely room to improve them further though. It'll be fun to see where the technology goes.
Watching in almost 2020 and its not archaic, just big. Mavic Mini is the drone newbie , first ever drone for me.
Yeah, the mavic mini looks like a great combination in a small package. Funny, we used to think the Mavic Pro was super-small, now it seems big by comparison.
If I upload the video I record to RUclips what kind of FAA license do I need?
another cim fan You don't need any license to upload footage to youtube.
If you monetize you RUclips video and you are operating your drone you need the commercial registration. Or just don't use drone tags in your description lol. But the FAA does check RUclips and will mail you a letter then possibly show up at your home. Good luck

Watching this in 2023
Replying to this in Dec 2022.
what considered, near airports, I'm like 3 miles away from on.

its like, cant fly there cant do that. i think whats the point of a drone. so many rules i talk myself out of it.
got a dji ad
Actually, it's $5 per drone to register a drone for commercial purposes. For recreation it's just $5 and the registration number can be applied to all your drones.
i'm Watching This Video In 2020 And I Still Can't buy a Drone
Me too🤗🤗🤗

You talking to me?
Seth?
Huh?
Me just looking for a 40€ drone : 👁👄👁
I bought a $2,000. drone and flew into a commercial airliner! The plane went down into the ocean killing all the passengers. Now I don't have my drone!!!!! 😭😭😭
Epic
I would carry a portable battery pack
...or just bring along a few fully charged batteries. That's what I do.
This guy is not only well spoken but sexy. MAJOR NETWORK COMING soon.
You should rename your channel Explain-ey Face
I'll consider it. :) Thanks for the suggestion!
👍
Depressing.
Instead just relying on the phone u should buy a proper fpv camera and just mount it to your drone
Like👍👍👍🙌
The guy buys a drone. Two weeks later he's an expert on the subject.
Thats how youtube works, check out Jeremy Judkins channel, he buys Mavic's and Inspires but does no research or even bothers to read the instructions and wonders why he crashes, even gives out wrong information to people asking him questions in the comments.

Stupid rules
Land of the free my ass. hmpf
Booring bro
