I used to live in a house that was on a dead end road out in the country. The train tracks were 5 miles away so you could just hear it going through town. But 8 years ago we moved into the village and our house is less than 200 feet from the tracks. We get about 3-4 trains a day. At first I thought I was going to go crazy but now it barely wakes me up at midnight and again at 5am. I could easily listen to it all night if there was no horn. But we're also next to two crossings in a row, so they lay on the horn way too long.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this video. We are making a switch over from RV'ing to boating, and your video has certainly got us quite excited about the change over. May we ask about some of the costs associated with boating like this. What does it cost, on average, to stay at a marina for an evening? And, what does it cost to stay an extended period of time (a month or more either on a slip or on a mooring)? And, finally, what does it cost, on average, to store a boat over the winter if you were to return to a winter region like New England or the Great Lakes? Thanks! Safe Journeys!

    • @AdventuresofHappyOurs
      @AdventuresofHappyOurs  Год назад +1

There are wide disparities among marina costs. Overnight transient stays range from $1/ ft to over $6/ft at high end marinas in cities. Mooring balls about i$10-25/night. Monthly stays at marinas also vary widely. $500/month is average. Winter storage about $1500-2000. These are costs I’ve experienced for a boat my size.

Should get dome VW e-golf battery pack and 2 ore 4 solar panels and hybrid inverter.
Then you never need to powering generator. And you have low cost power for normal home for about 1500 dollars
    And last for years.
I have 1 battery. 1 hybrid inverter at 3kw in 24volt. And 4 solar panels as roof over flybridge.
1500 dollar maked me install this for maked my fully 'cabin' whit 230volt for 11kw.
But never use that much. But it last 3 weeks whitout solar conekted. Whit conekted you all time have 230 ore 110 volt all over your boat budget

Knot you normally drives in icw ????
5 to 6 knots is normally speed all shud be in. Alsow rouls are most normally 5 to 6 knots.
I did everyday driving 12 to 16 hour days. And gat from 6 to 5, and saved a tonn of fuel and bumping.
Then you all get same speed as big thugs and comersiale ships speed. And you traveling same speed as all other.
Ofcourse rules tells you some time 8 and 10.
But see how many use that.
5 knots is the very best for boats from 25 to 75 foots boats.
Like yours i garanty better fuel economy of traveling at 5 knots konstantly.
Motors get a much better health.
Try that for a day ore 3 and see how only from 6 to 5 knots makes your and engine life much better. And makes you more fuel to drive more at lovley canals❤❤❤
