I make quite a few of these for a charity quilt auction every year. The necklace style from PSI serve double duty as a fashion accessory as well. Suggestion for craft fair makers: Turn blank to bushings for transition appearances but make the body larger so it is easier for those that don't have the dexterity in their finger/hands any longer. Also a polished groove at one end and two on the other can be a visual aid.
I know, it was making the blank hard to turn. I may have to turn without it. Only thing it’s good for is deflecting the chips so their caught by the collector. Regards, Bob
What a beautiful ripper! By the way the live stream Friday night was great! I wish it could be a weekly program! You and your daughter did an excellent job! Thanks !
Hi Bob...well turned and finished...great video... I agree with Huw ... they would do well at a craft fair... I have made pens but never a seam ripper ...must have a go...take care...All the best.....Andy
Instead of the wax I use the Aussie Oil. I apply it by placing a small amount on a paper towel and run it back and worth on a spinning lathe. I don't even buff my pens or peeper mills any more
Hi Bob, I have had in the back of my mind the idea to make some pens out of resin and colored pencils. Thanks in large part to some of your older videos with colored pencils. I just recently cast them and am going to turn them in a few days. The seam ripper looks great, keep up the good work!
I spent Sunday practicing with skew. You inspired me to start using the skew again instead of putting in the holder after a few catches. It went better than expected after your tip on Mark the do not cross line.
Hi Bob, That is a really nice project. I'm going to source some of these kite as I think they will go down well at craft fairs, when they re-open in the UK. Take care Bob. Cheers, Huw

What buffing wheels do you use?

All tools I use are in the video description.

What bushing are you using? I would love to try this because I like I longer handle seam ripper.
I use the standard seam ripper bushings that Penn State sells for this kit.
Regards,
Bob
@@RJBWoodTurner Sorry, I asked the wrong question what turn between center bushing do you use?
@@sweetpea22000 Oh, there not TBC, I use the standard bushings between a live and dead center. It works great!
@@RJBWoodTurner oh awesome, I can try this tomorrow. Thank you so much.
