John Deere L110 transmission fluid change

- Mower transmission was slipping a little. I stopped by the John Deere dealer and purchased HY-GARD Low Viscosity transmission fluid. Thankfully, the fluid change fixed the problem. Mower is running very smooth!
It can do "burn-outs" now!

@Trippy_Trolls yes a drain plug would have saved a lot of time and effort for sure.
My thoughts exactly. Pretty lazy engineering when you have to go to this extent to do a regular servicing job.
There is inside the gearbox 3 magnets more, you havu to take it a part, if want to clean them. 🙂
I have a 2004 145 Automatic JD that probably needs the transmission fluid changed. It starts to slip about 15 minutes when it’s going up hill. Not many videos on how to change the JD lawn tractor hydrostatic transmission fluid.
It was my first time changing the mower transmission fluid. If you make a short video or take a few pictures as you disassemble...it helps as you put things back together. :-)

Great video thank you for all the tips. Is beyond my rum is to why John Deere made this transmission basically nonserviceable I don’t understand why you gotta remove it to do all this work. Just to change the fluid. I ordered the 3 quarts I’m going to do it. what was your reason for changing it?
It was slow and after changing fluid... much faster. It's worth it.

This is video is pretty helpful. It could have been very helpful if you had talked instead of playing weird club music. Why? And, maybe go tool shopping.

What's the transmission drive belt size so i can get the right one for my L110
I was gonna go by the 100 series when buying one from the store
Mine doesn't have the clutch pulley if they came with those when new so I might actually have to take the old one off and match it up to a new drive belt cause the pulley is smaller than the clutch pulley
It's a
GX20006 transmission belt for all the 100 series.
Just changed my belt on the l110 automatic about an hour ago. They are around 20 bucks on home depot for a johndeere brand belt.
@@Hanshotchewie I don't mind how much they are as long as it's the drive belt an it'll work
@@Hanshotchewie I bought the last 2 belts of those and put the new one on I guess it wasn't to hard to do.
I'm gonna keep that one belt cover thing off that fits over the fan in the back so the next drive belt change will be easier

Hell of a lot easier and quicker to go buy a new mower.

I topped it up with 2. I purchased 3 total, but only needed 2.
It would be great if you explained what you were doing instead of the stupid music.
