    My only question is, why isn't there fast chargers in it? Seems like a missed opportunity

    • @ReluctantDIYers
      @ReluctantDIYers  Год назад

      That’s a really good question Trey. Not sure. Maybe because of heat dissipation issues when the lid is closed?

    • @kenethsoberano
      @kenethsoberano Год назад +1

      Maybe because it's not compatible with their largest FlexVolt batteries.

      I hate that they sell a $250 4 port fast charger but won’t make an adapter to fit it to the Toughsystem 2.0!! Instead buy an inferior, bulky as all hell 2 port charger that’s not a fast charger.
      Way to go Dewalt.

    If your not a builder you shouldn’t say it’s a must have . As a builder it’s not practical, since most framers use 12ah batteries all day and what’s the point if you can’t store them vertically and charge with the lid closed ?
    That’s a huge design flaw , just make the box a couple inches taller . Also you should show just how many Flexvolt batteries it will hold vertical, I assume it’s 3 if the flexvolt are layed down and two on the charger . we know it holds 12 , XR batteries.

    4:07 Thanks for this insight. As a Flexvolt user, I am no longer interested in this unit. I will stick with my Toughsystem drawer and 4-port rapid charger.

    Dewalt missed the target with this. They would have been better to go with a modified version of the two-drawer system - that would have allowed FOUR batteries (including the 15AH batteries) side-by side. Just increase the depth of the bottom drawer and turn the top reduced-depth drawer into either storage or house the radio unit.
    Plus the USB-C port only seems to charge when the toolbox is plugged into mains power. It should be able to provide power from the internal Dewalt batteries. In fact, you could even argue that they should just build wireless / mag-safe charging into the lid so that you can just pop your phone into the centre recessed part of the top of the lid / under the handle.

    Here for the tough system reviews;
    I commend the quality of your videos. Maybe a little drawn out and long winded for the people actually coming across your video via a search bar. Try relating more to your actual audience versus the intended audience. We are watching a video on tool reviews and somehow it feels like a bubble wrapped elementary video…
    I really appreciate your attention to detail in the video making process. I just find myself skipping over several sections that are pretty self explanatory. Coming the realization that what I am actually looking for is feedback on the real world experience. “I like it so far, Let’s see how it actually works in the field.”
    I hope to see more content from you and will continue to tune in.

      Logan, thank you! This is very valuable feedback, which I greatly appreciate. I also appreciate the fact that you took the time to write this. I focus greatly on keeping my videos concise while also trying not to skip the appropriate details. My goal, very transparently, is to improve something with every video I upload. This will always be a work in progress… in other words, my head is not inflated, thinking I know everything. Improvement is always a goal.
      I appreciate you and everyone else who watches these videos, more than I can express in words. At the end of the day, my #1 goal is, and will always be, to help.
      Have a great day!

    Does it have to be plugged in to charge the batteries? I thought it didn't but sone reviews it says it does, specifically the usb won't work unless the box is plugged in, but each time you're showing it charging it's plugged into the wall.

    • @ReluctantDIYers
      @ReluctantDIYers  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I can confirm that it DOES need to be plugged in to charge batteries and USB accessories. There is no onboard battery to charge anything while unplugged. That would have been cool to have but it would have made this thing very heavy.

      @@ReluctantDIYers appreciate the video. I couldn’t tell how large it was. I was hoping that it was bigger actually for more batteries, like the full width of the standard 2.0 boxes. Would two sit side by side on top of the 2.0 system?

    • @ReluctantDIYers
      @ReluctantDIYers  Год назад +2

      @@baldeagleconstructioninc3947 Great question! Yes, you can fit two of these side by side in the ToughSystem 2.0 stack. I’m guessing DeWalt made this in a half form factor because a full size box filled with batteries could get REALLY heavy.

    So many design flaws in this.
    I wanted to like it, given its practicality l.
    But, comon dewalt!
    You can't even fit a 15ah battery? and only available as a tough system model?
    No fast charger?
    It's only usable plugged into a mains socket?
    Erm.. last time I checked, most onsite areas do not allow AC mains equipment
