I've been binge watching a bunch of these competitions recently and this course by far is the hardest one out of the ones I've watched recently. Lots of falls, refusals and miss haps and lots of beautiful horses!

Thank you so much for having no music intruding on the competition. I often have to leave a Longines

Omg not only on FEItv but Longines indoor is unbelievable. The music is so loud and the flashing lights its just completely a circus and IMO has no place in any Equestrian sport. They say its to make Equestrian sports more accessible but to be honest most people who go as spectators go because they love horses and horse sports, it never and never will appeal to a general audience by way of entertainment. I too cannot stand the loud music and have had to walk out various venues including Hong Kong because the music has just been so utterly and insanely ridiculous. The commentators have to scream to be heard. I could hear the whole thing clearly from the stable block too which is truly unpleasant for the horses and riders. many horses have flown vast distances around the world they deserve respect FEI!!??? You would think one wouldn't have to say any of this but there's the FEI for you forever alert for abuse. Yea right..

I don't even watch videos with that music. At the venues I wear ear plugs and still the noise is overwhelming. How does that affect the horses, whose ears are so much more sensitive than ours?

  • @equestanton1017

Not so sure the footing was that good, it seems the footing was making jumping rather difficult in fact, too soft, wet maybe, the horses struggled to get up and were slipping rather often. Not exactly a ploughed field but a slip here a slip there doesn't make good footing or secure jumping. I think most of the faults were due to this as the course though big was pretty straight forward.

Amy Englis doesn't have quite the control she should have and she's jerking the rains and she's pulling the bit too tight which is hurting the horse's mouth and that's the reason he was acting up and that's also the reason that he couldn't focus on jumping the fences!
She needs to majorly work on her reins work and not be so jerky because it confuses the horse! Also if you're pulling on the rein too much and hurting the horses mouth they're going to act up and kick that's exactly what she was doing!
