I live in the USA and I recently just discovered and started playing this game only because an arcade near me has a few SDVX machines (although I have heard of the game a few years ago but never thought i'd be able to play it). I absolutely love Japanese rhythm games, I grew up playing games like DDR.
I also live in the US and just got my hands on a Yuancon SDVX Black Controller and have been playing it when I can on PC... I love DJMAX and Taiko, so it was only natural I would fall in love with SDVX.
33:10 "Interesting" is an understatement to be honest. I'd recommend anyone interested to go look for videos of any of the Sound Voltex KAC finals and watch the crowd get hyped every time haha.
@@darnok6407 additional example would be lachryma requiem, the 5th kac finals song. that was the first time where they just straight up remove the scores to make everyone anticipate who wins, as well as the track guide just disappearing for the first time.
200k was a stretch, but damn, Twitch Chat went wild when showed up esp on I segment. Leviern is definitely wild to even do a boss rush of SDVX Boss Rush segments
Its amazing to see rhythm games getting into the showcase at mind-blowing speeds! Sound Voltex is a game I always enjoy watching but could not keep up with. Also, to Full Combo a 20 at all, yet alone live on a stream is legendary!
Could only catch part of this live, but wow! What an experience. Ieviern is a beast of a runner, pulling off stunning songs with aplomb. Incredibly cool game, but way beyond my dexterity level. Shoutout to the couch for great commentary!
I don't know the scene of this game, i don't know why i haven't seen this game ever but i just want to say that Leviern (the player) is a beast thanks for that display of skill what a joy watching this and thanks to GDQ for putting this game
The games are very easy to run, the lowest spec cab running Exceed Gear uses a 4th gen i3 and a 1050. Before Vivid Wave some cabs were using hardware that was over a decade old.
The arcade cabs have an intel i5 and an Nvidia GTX 1050 in them, but the game logic can run on much less than that since K-Shootmania (A clone of SDVX like Stepmania is to DDR) can run on way less.
26:05 I’m only vaguely familiar with the mechanics in this game, so correct me if I’m wrong. Is the BPM is so slow that Leviern is trying to change the lane speed quickly enough to still start the hold before the game issues an error and breaks the combo? (It looks like he’s just a tad too late and loses the combo.) I’m curious because I’ve seen other videos where the player starts the hold first and then changes the lane speed after a certain point, and even though they technically didn’t finish out the hold, they still got a UC/PUC after hitting the last taps.
yea, since the bpm is only 5 for that hold note, the game is checking if you're holding the notes a lot less frequently, so you can get away with starting the hold later.
"what makes this game unique is they actively remix it while you're playing" with the worst sound effects and filters I've ever heard :) I'm joking of course, I still hate the samples and filters, but sdvx, like any rhythm game, is absolutely nuts at high levels like this.
While this run was amazing to show, yes. Many Level 20s in a row gets very stale imo. I think it's perhaps best to show various charts which require different types of techniques instead of these Lv. 20 over-charts.

This is my favorite game.
I am looking forward to the day when I can get along with everyone outside of Japan.❤

What a masterclass. Thought I would just watch a couple of tracks, got stunned into watching the whole thing
Always glad to see rhythm game showcases happening at GDQ, especially if it's being played by someone that is considered to be world-class

Especially the reaction to 666 when the lane just gets cut in half

Absolutely bonkers watching this, and it was equally fun watching gdq chat lose its collective mind for the entire run. Awesome playthrough!

Great job leviern, thank you for bringing this run to SQDQ. Was one of my favorite runs to watch this marathon!
👋👋
this was WILD!! my jaw was dropped the whole time
Its amazing to see rhythm games getting into the showcase at mind-blowing speeds! Sound Voltex is a game I always enjoy watching but could not keep up with. Also, to Full Combo a 20 at all, yet alone live on a stream is legendary!
び is the best song to show to your friends unfamiliar with rhythm games
Awesome to see the crew in here. Penga got me into watching this.
Could only catch part of this live, but wow! What an experience. Ieviern is a beast of a runner, pulling off stunning songs with aplomb. Incredibly cool game, but way beyond my dexterity level. Shoutout to the couch for great commentary!
Heck yeah I love this game! Good run!
amazing amazing AMAZING! Im in love with this game and it warms my soul to watch pros play this well
I remember the first time I saw someone play Blastix Riotz, I was enthralled with this game.
Camellia songs in this game are just really fun, on any difficulty!
This crew was so fun. So glad it got in and that I had a “front row seat” for it
How the
pretty fun eh?
I had no idea this run was happening! I would have loved to catch this live.
avoided Mixxion like the plague lmao
What’s that you ask? Nothing….just my jaw….on the floor
My favorite game by far
Nice showcase
Lets goo SDVX at GDQ
1:07:30 hands moving so fast they show up blurry! Wow, what a fantastic showcase! This broke my brain.
As a person who has been playing this game for a while now, glad this has a spot in gdq
This man has unlocked Ultra Instinct. No two ways about it.
I don't know the scene of this game, i don't know why i haven't seen this game ever but i just want to say that Leviern (the player) is a beast thanks for that display of skill what a joy watching this and thanks to GDQ for putting this game
This was amazing live!
used to play this a fair bit, got up to the 16s, very surprised to see this
This game moves so fast that it made me dizzy and had to take a break. Such a wild display of talent!
I begins at 48:44
🤡 begins at 29:54
Shout out the folks on commentary with the history and track details of every song!
just started playing it for 2 days, finally able to get AA on lvl 12 song, good enough i guess
When the guys "doppelganger" came in was funny
....... What am i even watching...... Woah
What the heck, this is another lvl speedgaming much respect for the button smasher
i wonder how much computational power the arcade machines have in order to run that
The games are very easy to run, the lowest spec cab running Exceed Gear uses a 4th gen i3 and a 1050. Before Vivid Wave some cabs were using hardware that was over a decade old.
all you need is an low end office pc with a few tweaks
The arcade cabs have an intel i5 and an Nvidia GTX 1050 in them, but the game logic can run on much less than that since K-Shootmania (A clone of SDVX like Stepmania is to DDR) can run on way less.
not much you only need an i5-9400F or equivalent and a GTX 1650 or equivalent to run this at 120hz
Current version of SDVX uses i5 9400F and GTX 1650. It's very high spec for an arcade game though
Love playing this game, and happy to have it featured in gdq c:

just baffled by the display of skill during this run
I came here wondering how Sound Voltex would be spedran
i stayed for the commentary and the gameplay.
this was nuts to watch. loved the clown bit :-)
holy shit
goated segment

Yes
Awesome!
What's the goal of this speedrun? Is he just playing a list of songs?
not a speedrun but a showcase.
Let's goooo!
yoooo jubeat yoshi!!!!!!
Too bad they didnt play Mixxion
how you supposed to speedrun a rhythm game
I think he really wouldnt be fun to play against in mario party then huh...
