      Can someone help me understand this. If I have 115 monthly hours and 28:45 weekly hours and if there is four and a half week in a month, 28:45 x 4.5= 129:15 but I am only allowed 115 hours a month, do I get penalized for claiming more than 115 hours even though I am claiming my allowed weekly amount? Thanks.

    • @SandraIAyon

      Hi. To answer your question. Yes, you do get penalized. You’re not supposed to work more than the hours that you are allowed per month, even if there are five weeks in a month.

    Hi, thank you for your wonderful videos. My question...
    The Recipeant has 283 hrs monthly. I put 70 hours for week 1 . A warning says that I exceed 66 hrs, allowed per wk, and I may have a violation. What am i doing wrong?

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  5 месяцев назад +1

      Good morning thank you so much. The reason that it’s telling you that you were exceeding 66 hours per week is because the social worker has not implemented the protective service order in the system and you will get a violation. My recommendation is to only claim the 66 hours, but that means that you’re gonna have to, do a supplemental timesheet when the order is in the system for the additional hours and at that point you have to be very careful because it is a puzzle that you are putting together any mistake whether it be on travel time sheets, supplemental, timesheets, or regular timesheet is considered a violation. My phone number is 562-281-3219. Feel free to give me a call or text me and I can give you more advice.

    Hello Sandra,
    Thank you once again for all your helpful videos. I love your personality and frankness! Is there a maximum amount of hours we can put daily! I care for my son that lives with me. Could I put 20 hours just for a day? I haven’t started yet but I am told that some hours are prorated. To get most of the work week I thought I could put 20 hours on one of the days since it will start at the end of the month. I am waiting to get a provider # but pretty afraid to do my timesheets because it seems simple enough but it is confusing at the same time. Thank you and may God bless you always!

    Hi sandra You helped understand a lot, but in a way I'm still not sure. So correct me if I'm wrong, my recipient's authorized monthly hours are 59.48 and my recipient's maximum weekly hours are 14.57. So basically what I am supposed to do is make sure each week is 14 hours ignoring the 57 minutes and than add the 48 minutes from the 59.48 in ONE of the weeks am I right? So basically my hours are suppose to be 2 hours a day for each workweek right? And than on the pay period between the 1st and 15 I put in the 48 minutes on one of the boxes. And than on the following pay period the 16th to the end of the month, put 2 hours for everything except for 1 the boxes. And for that box I make it just 1 hour that day making it 13 hours for that week instead of the normal 14 hours per week right? I did calculate that and on it it adds up to 59.48. On the timesheet between the 1st and 15 I got 30.48 and on the remaining 16th to the end of the month I got 29 hours only making it 59.48. Am I right? If not please correct me. If I am right though it's all thanks to you!

    Hello Sandra. Thanks for posting this video. The calculations you do are very easy to understand. However, I am curious to know if you actually work those hours per day. I always get confused completing the timesheet because the hours not always match.
    For example: I was granted 160 per month. I divided 160/4 = 40 per week. I work Monday - Friday 8 hours which sounds easy to calculate. However, in order to avoid going over the weekly allowed hours, often I have to put less hours than what I actually worked. For example: June 16th - June 30th. I worked 8 hours Mon - Friday. If I enter the actual hours worked, I get a total of 48 hours which that is the hours I actually worked? If I divide 40/11 I get a total of 6:45 for each day!!
    Also, do we get pay for holidays or not? If so, which holidays?

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  7 лет назад

      Trish Gonzalez first the easy question. the wonderful thing about having a union such as SEIU Local 2015 is that we are fighting to get the same rights that other workers also have who do the same duties as we do as home care providers. we are nurses we are medical assistants we are medicine administrators we are transportation we are the cleaning crew that maintains a healthy living home we basically are a consumers arms and legs and much more but above all we're human. a person that does Home Care needs to have the heart and conscience in my opinion because that's how I function that one day I will to be in their situation and I would love someone like me to take care of me like I take care of my consumer. my consumers become my family and I love every single one of them because they are people like me. So my answer to you as do we get paid holidays is the relationship that you have with your consumer is priceless. it's up to you and them to decide when you get a day off. if they love and appreciate you and what you do for them then they will let you go and rest and be with your family like I have been since Friday cuz tomorrow is the 4th of July and I'm with my family. I do have to add that I also as a responsible provider made sure that their needs were taken care of before I left.

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  7 лет назад

      now the hard question. the hours that you are authorized to work per month are supposed to be divided in the days that you provide service. in your case I see that you're allowed to work 80 hours for every 15 days if you do not work Saturdays and Sundays and your schedule is Monday through Friday 8 hours a day that is a set schedule I need might work sometimes but what I suggest you do is when the month starts figure out how many days from Monday through Friday you will be working and divide them properly to where you do not exceed the 40 hours a week and work more and not get paid like June 1st and June 2nd. for example in the month of July 2017 you will not be able to work on the 31st because it is a Monday and you've already fulfilled your 160 hours in the previous weeks before. therefore my suggestion to you would be to work Less hours so that you can work that Monday the 31st of July. you would have to work 38 hours every week and on the 31st of July you would work your full 8 hours to fulfill the 160 hours a month without working weekends

    Sandra thanks so much for your response. I am sorry for asking the question over and over. For some unknown reason, I am not being notified about your replies. If
    I understood correctly, the schedule needs to adjusted every month instead of having a set schedule. Correct?

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  7 лет назад

      Trish Gonzalez yes that's correct you cannot work a set schedule from 8 to 5 everyday unless you are working in an office environment. being a home caregiver your schedule varies just like their schedule varies and there needs to be an understanding between you and the consumer that LIFE happens that's why there is such a flexibility and the relationship is so important between your consumer and you.

    I have 1 question. Do all timesheets show you the claimed hours per week on top? For example this one that you're showing us says 50 on the first week. Thanks

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  7 лет назад

      Anthony good morning. If you notice on your timesheet for each work week you will see that work week one has claimed hours Work Week 2 has claimed hours work week 3 has claimed hours and work week 4 has claimed hours. There are two scenarios where the work week hours will be wrong. Scenario 1 is when you have been waiting for timesheets for a long time and the claimed hours will all show up to be 0. Why because the machine in Chico generates the timesheets automatically therefore since there's no history of any timesheets being turned in they will all reflect zero claimed hours. Scenario 2 is when the provider Clerk orders you timesheets that you are backed up on. Once again the machine will generate the timesheets and will reflect the last claimed hours that you worked for your last time sheet. The only way that I have found to be one hundred percent sure of what my claimed hours are is by having a copy of the last time sheet you turned in that has the hours claimed on Work Week 3 which will roll over to the next time sheet and reflect on Work Week 1. Remember our work week begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday and it does not matter when the timesheet ended if our work week continues in the middle of the week we have to deduct the hours claimed from work week 1 from the hours authorized for us to work per week. I know this is a little confusing but read word for word as slowly as I said it so that it's easier to understand. Please feel free to call me if it's unclear I will be more than happy to explain it we all learn in different ways and I love teaching. God bless you Anthony and I hope this helps. 562 281 3219

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  Год назад

      So, if I’m understanding this correctly, you started working on the third work week of the second timesheet. Which leads to work week one of the new month. If that is the case you’re start date has been prorated to the end of the month and can only claim those hours. Unfortunately, because our work week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday those hours will roll over to the new month and affect your weekly hours because the timesheet ended but the work week still continued. My phone number is 562-281-3219 if you want to give me more details. Please read every word slowly so that you can understand what I am saying. I had to do the same for your message to clearly understand it. There is no shame. I want you to take your time. If your case is different than what I have just explained, then try to message me again as I might’ve also understood. I hope this helps. God bless.

      Hi good morning there are two ways to enroll in direct deposit. Number one there is a form that the social worker can send you to enroll in direct deposit. And number two if you have signed up with electronic timesheets to be able to view your status of your time sheets there is a link there also that you can enroll in direct deposit. I haven't used it yet but I'm going to be using it because I need to transfer one of my clients over to another account. As soon as I use it I'll let you know. I did the paper direct deposit form now I'm going to try the online direct deposit form. Go to E timesheets and register you don't have to enroll to do electronic timesheets so don't be afraid.

    Hello Sandra, thank you for your video, I need help with my time sheet. My question is, it's the hours on the right conor that's dedicated on each timesheets is the hours I'm allowed to claim per month or per week? I have been working for my client and my start date was February 4th 2018, my client hours that allowed to claim is 111.17/month I believe, and I have to share the hours with another care provider, which she has already claimed the hours of Feb, March, April, May, June also I believe, I just received my timesheets about 3 days ago, the timsheet dated 02/01/2018 to 02/15/2018 I saw the hour dedicated on the right cornor of the timesheet written 01.27, I was kinda worry if that's only the hours I can claim on this period or this month? It's the same on the timesheet of 02/16/2018 to 02/28/2018, the hour dedicated on the right corner of the timesheet is 01.27. I have worked 18 hours on the first Feb period, and also 18 hours on the second Feb period of Feb 2018. I need your help, so this hours that dedicated on the right corner of the timeheet is the hours that I can claim per month or per week? How can I claim my hours that I have already worked without being paid yet? I know we are not suppose to climb over 40 hours a week, but that's not a problem because I only work 9 hours a week, sometime 14 hours a week for this client, but for a while 14 hours a week. I would appreciate very much your help, thank you, also your video is very helpful, thank you so much for uplaoding.

    Thank you for your videos, this really helps. so I get the max of 283 as well but I split them with my husband, so it gets a little tricky. Do you know why it is that even though we claim the exact same amount of hours on every time sheet, our pay is different, Usually my check being about $40.00 more that my husbands? Also, We have a Share of Cost (S.O.C.) we have to take into consideration (its my mom we care for) so the first $856.00 we do not see and every month one of the 4 checks; me=2 hubby=2, one is a total $0 and the other of us get the remaining on our check; do you know how it is that they determine whose check to take the S.O.C. out of?? Thanks again Sandra, you're a true blessing!!

      I think the union should fight to keep the paper time sheets as is, internet or phone is not an option that anyone should be stuck with. I think that now the union has fought they need to continue I hope that someone who is part of the union is reading this and will consider getting involved if they are not so involved right now. I can go on and on about the problems with either not having internet or it being a security risk or there being a black out, or people where the cell phone towers do not reach or they could be using pay as you go burner phones. etc. IHSS has disables the ability to post a message for their videos as far as I have seen. I'm watching this in 144p ok! F***!

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  6 лет назад

      I understand what the first reaction is when you're looking at this through 144p. You are also correct about the IHSS website because I have personally tried to reach out to people on it and try to help them and my comments get deleted which I know that it's probably because it's all the bureaucracy where everyone is just out to help themselves and that's the terrible part because we should be helping each other out. But I must tell you that unfortunately I have also been forced to change with the times and if it was my choice I would probably still have dial-up internet service which is way different than Wireless speed on the internet. But I found it a necessity to upgrade because it is needed. Another example is also the phone that I had was not a good phone because I could not reach out to the people the way I reach out to them now so therefore I had to go spend another hundred and fifty dollars so that I would be a lot more efficient and helping providers that needed my assistance. Once again I'm sorry for your troubles but if there is anything I can do feel free to call me 562-281-3219 and I will definitely keep you informed of what I know just remember that I am also a provider like you and I also have to work taking care of other people and this is done on my free time have a good day

    Hi Sandra, this is more helpful then when I called into the Help Desk. I don't feel I was helped, and the person I spoke with was not patient and showed it by her attitude. I guess I was confused, because the workweek is Sun-Sat, but when you go to enter time, it already has the end of the month for Sunday. So I am trying to put in my actual hours, but it seems like your explanation is having me put hours on days that I'm not working. I get 22.53 hours per week, and it says I get 91.31 hours for the month, but not sure I've been able to get that total number ever, making me feel like I'm shorting myself. I take care of my mom all week with the exception of 24 hours a week for a break. 53 minutes is almost an hour, how do I figure the minutes so I can get paid for them?

      Your monthly hours reflect in the notice of action that your parents received, and you should’ve also received a notice of action stating the responsibilities that you have to do for your parents. If both of your parents live with you, there might be a possibility that you can apply for the 360 hours per month exemption. My phone number is 562-281-3219. Feel free to call or text I can give you more information. But you basically have to divide your hours by four to get the weekly hours.

But the important thing is that I am able to do this on my own as a provider myself I just wish I had like 100 minimis so that I can help more people. I am looking for ways of making myself more available. I am planning on having classes to teach people on October 14th. Because timesheets are due on the 15th so I'm pretty sure that will work. I'll be offering my time to help those in need of knowledge. And I like socializing so that'll be cool too.

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  6 лет назад +1

      Eliza Contreras that's a really good question. This is something that I have been trying to explain to providers that have more than a hundred and sixty hours a month. When you work more then $160 a month you qualify for overtime which is time and a half so for example I get paid $11.18 an hour but once I go over my 40 hours a week the rest of my hours are at $16.77. It is extremely important to place the hours so that you don't cheat yourself of overtime. That's why your checks are different. Unfortunately this is not a case for the county to fix it's more of a labor board issue because if you continue to work for example 57 hours a week that means 40 hours regular time 17 hours is overtime but sometimes there's no place to work the overtime. If you like you can call me 562-281-3219 if I can a Lancer if not please leave me a message and I will get back to you and give you more information. Have a blessed day

      Please be extremely careful when you fill out those backed up time sheets because it is a domino effect and you are allowed for violations before you get suspended for a whole year. Call me when you get a chance 562-281-3219

    I can only work 39:57 mins a month so do i have to put time in each day or could i just put. 5 hrs on tuesday and 5 hours on thursday?

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  6 лет назад

      +Camoflauge Raw no you can't. When you divide 39.57 by 4 weeks in a month you get 9.82. The problem is that the 82 is not a minute it is a fraction of an hour .75 equals 45 minutes so therefore .82 would be somewhere between 50 and 52 minutes. So to be on the safe side I would tell you to work no more then 9 hours and 45 minutes per week. So 5 on Tuesday and 5 hours on Thursday would equal 10 hours. Your first time sheet I would suggest that you do it 420 hour and your second time sheet 419 hours and 57 minutes keeping in mind not to go over 9 hours and 45 minutes per week. I hope this helps please look at my videos and input your numbers or call me 562-281-3219 good night

    Sandra, I just started and they gave me 15hrs for Nov. When I went to fill out the timesheet online, it says that from oct 31 to Nov 7 are claimed hours, they only have Zeros, I can't write over them. My question is that do those days "00 claimed hours" still count for those 15hrs given to me?

    • @SandraIAyon
      @SandraIAyon  2 года назад +1

      Yes even if they are not yours you can not go over the allowed hours per week for the client

      @@SandraIAyon Thank you! That helped me figure out the math better.
      My next question is, because I just got a letter, I have hours added. So those 15 hrs from Nov became 32 hrs.
      Will I get paid automatically or do I have to call ihss for those hours added?

      No sweetie I am just a home care provider like you are. But I did work on an internship with the Union and that is where I became exposed to a lot of politics. The knowledge that I gained was mainly from the social workers and provider Clerks along with every single person that walked through the door that I helped get their problem solved. To this day they still come to me because they believed in me and trust me and know that I am there to help them. So if you need any help please let me know I'll be more than happy to share the knowledge with you God bless

      I told you. The one that's going to be difficult and it's going to take longer is going to be the one for New Year's Eve. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get paid until the 15th of January 4 the month of December 16th to the 31st. So prepare yourself after that check then everything will go back to normal
