It’s worth mentioning that if you do “upgrade” your old racquet, then you should expect a longer adjustment period. Different racquets need different strokes, so expect to make adjustments to your technique and that takes time. And beware of switching between the new and old racquet during your adjustment period, because you’ll risk end up in between the two and not feeling comfortable with either.

@6:03 I wish someone told me this when I was starting at 14/15 - I was hitting 90+ mph that occasionally went in haha and so you can imagine I broke a few rackets on sweaty humid days- namely a brand new, just released, Wilson six-one tour, I bought whilst visiting Florida because the GBPUSD rate was very nice then haha I know, the wrong racket for me then and now! but I was a big Federer fan :) I have had the same stick since 2012 now that I'm older & wiser, more Djokovic inspired :)

As much as I love the feel of racquets with old school technology, there's no getting away from the benefits and advantages a modern stick will give you.
More power and spin in a more manoeuvrable package, coupled with better damping to prevent fatigue and injury. It's a win win imo, and that's coming from someone who played with the Wilson PS 6.0 85 for years and resisted the change!

I always keep abreast of the new modern technology and only buy racquets with a RA lower than 64. With respect to the dampening technology, Dunlop has hit their mark with the new CX line. Also the K7 line with Angell is quite good with the addition of Aramid fibers which creates a very plush arm friendly feel. I am currently playing around with the Dunlop CX 200 OS with customization to get the weight and balance to my liking. Currently looking for easier power and spin with the plush feel. I have been using the Prince Phantom 100P but which has a great arm friendly racquet but can be quite demanding.
My goal is to upgrade to more user-friendly racquet 🎾. I really enjoy your content and videos Jonas! Keep up the good work 💪!

7:29 Oh please, the graphene in Head racquets is just marketing. I've read the patent document for graphene in tennis racquets and basically they are sprinkling some microscopic graphene flakes into the resin just to be able to use the graphene name without getting sued, but it doesn't make any difference to the frame. If they were actually making graphene structures inside the racquets, each racquet would cost like 10 000 dollars.

Wasn't there a lawsuit over Federer's racket too?? I read about it years ago, in the nCode days. Somebody noticed that the drill pattern was different on the retail nCode 90 than on Federer's. They were right and it led to there being a reissue of the nCode 90 (you can see the difference in the number of holes in the PWS area). And when the K90 was released, they had to make sure it was his actual frame.

Great video. I used the blx six one 90 and 95 tour (and previous kfactor versions) for about 10+ years before transitioning to the clash 100 pro due to an arm issue. Oddly I found the transition a little more challenging as my old rackets were so head light, and the more balanced wieghting of the clash threw me off. I get the sensation the clash is heavier which clearly is not the case. Anyway, I think it was the right decision to change, however when i went to pick up my old blx95 it felt like a plank of wood. May have to string it with something softer. I would not want to lose the ability to use those frames.

With this, PS85 and 6.1.95 BLX in lineup, the new PS97 v13 became an outlier and fell to the bottom of rotation.
6.1.95 was a gem found accidentaly from old stock offering and came with rinky dink Prince Replacement string, whatever that is. It still rules as mostly a Swing and Forget racket due to the nice heft. Fabulous.
