You're correct about Luffy being "Brazillian" or his character is based on that. I believe Oda spoke about the origin country influences for each character in an interview once.
Don’t worry about not knowing their dreams, this season does give episodes that covers all of that. By the end, you’ll be up to date.
The casting is so good and I feel the love and respect for the source material.
Except for Koby and Nami's "sister".
I’ve never heard of “One Piece” before because I’m not a big fan of anime but watching your reaction to it makes it worth watching.
I loved it. Finished the season yesterday and its so much fun. Everyone of the cast you can see really did their best to embody the characters. A joyous tribute in the name of adventure.
Most people love it. It's a huge hit for Netflix.

yes, Oda said Luffy was brazilian, but as a brazilian i have to say that doesn't mean anything at all, Brazil is a country of mixed races, for example south of it was colonized by germans, there is also italians, southeast by portuguese which brought africans here too and so on, each part of brazil has different people, from all over the world, africa, europe, asia... so you can't generalize and say that guy looks brazilian, i don't think there is any country in the world where it's people is more mixed than Brazil.
It's so weird how people try to justify iñaki being cast as luffy because he is supposed to be brazilian. As if that was needed, also mackenyu could be brazilian as well as Jacob and taz and Emily

From what I have read Luffy's character is based and envisioned from Brazilian culture not actually Brazilian. For one there is no nation known as Brazil in One Piece. Several of the characters are inspired and influenced by other cultures and nationalities but it doesn't make them that.
@@arakuss1 yes, that's true, but when you create a character like that, not only the behaviour due to the culture, you also try to make their appearance as close as possible, for example Nimaiya oetsu from bleach, he had heavy black culture influence, so the creator made him black, if he was white it would be weird, sanji i think it's supposed to be french too, and the appearance match with that stereotype, zoro is the same with the slanted eyes and all about honor that he gets from japanese culture, so the appearance and behaviour has to match, our point here is about appearance, Brazil doesn't have something unique like that because of all the mixed races.

Oda was one of the manga writer's on Kenshin before he start creating one piece
Mackenyu the actor who plays Zoro on this one piece live action also played the villain Enishi in the live action adaptation of rurouni kenshin. Amazing film.
@@mikelach6012 The writer of Kenshin also REALLY likes little kids. He got away due to Japan’s lax child protection laws.

I don't think people should be judging you for not liking the anime. It took me 500 episodes just to really start liking it and that was because of the covid shutdown. I think you should be fine.

Tbh zoro character didnt match even the way he speaks, is really disappointment, 😢 he made his voice like very lazy guy , low american voice throughout the entire season, i wouldve understood that he had no plans desire to he a warrior, but even after being part of luffy he still has that lazy character and voice, only one piece true fans will understand what I mean.
Manga is poifect, and the live action is poifect.
I liked the live action better then the anime. Didn't like the pace of the anime it was to slow imo to mutch filler.
It's slow at first, but believe me, keep watching and it will be worth it.
Then you will come back to see the beginning with different eyes.
If you arrive in Alabasta and don't like it, that's ok, but I highly doubt you won't fall in love with this work ♡♡.
For me it was just meh... Maybe I am getting too old for this genre LoL. I did love His Dark Materials though
